Neo Ultra Q

This update to the series manages to keep all that is great about it and expand into modern times. Love it. Some great continuations of old stories. Amazing new entries. Wish it had more seasons.

The third Ultra Q series (as of writing, the second, Dark Fantasy, has not received a North American Blu Ray release), Neo was promoted as being a second season of the 1960s original. And if so, what a second season it is. This show proves that Tsuburaya desperately needs to toss away the yoke of bandai, and start making more mature works again. Each 30 minute episode packs in more drama (sometimes heartbreaking) than most one hour shows. Incredible ideas and visuals, if you are an Ultra fan who is thinking of skipping this one as it does not feature an Ultraman, then you better think again. This is one of the finest Ultra series ever made and one of the best Science Fiction/Fantasy shows to come down the pike, East or West, in a long, long time.

Whattttt this was a totally unexpected release.... But it is part of the official ultra series so I'm glad they did.This is supposed to be a sequel/reboot of the original Ultra Q show. So it has the same theme song for nostolaga.My favorite episode was the pandora's box, so awesome seeing it in this black and white format and that black monster was legitimately frightening. One impressive episode!!Overall it's a buy, 100% a buy.

Okay Siri not as good as the original

This was a sensational update. I wish they’d make more. Ultra Q gets foolishly swept aside because of Ultraman, but Neo Ultra Q is polished and intelligent.

Excellent show, but the subtitles can be very poorly written at times. Hard to understand and amateurish. Almost stilted. What a shame, because most of Mill Creek's other Ultraman offerings have been excellent. Skip this one unless you're an Ultra Ultra-Fan or a collector.

I thought it was a nice continuing version of the original tv serious ultra Q

タイトル『ネオ・ウルトラQ』ディスク2枚/全12話/1080p/ワイドスクリーン1.78:1一般的な国内プレイヤーで再生出来ます（再生環境/SONYの2015年～の最廉価プレイヤー『BDP-S1500』）。AUDIO/日本語 DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo日本語音声のみなので、字幕を《OFF》にすれば後は普通に鑑賞する事が出来ます。なお、他の北米版ウルトラシリーズ同様に、タイトル画面自体に《ALL PLAY》・字幕ON/OFF・各話の選択画面が有ります。映像特典は無し。昭和怪奇ドラマの金字塔。そして、その続編的な立ち位置に当たるのが、本作『ネオ・ウルトラＱ』です。結末が鑑賞する者の脳内補完に委ねられているタイプが多いものの、社会や人間性を皮肉る物語基盤と相まって、秀逸な作品群となっています。個人的に好きなのは『東京プロトコル』。詳しくはご覧になって下さい。本作品をきっかけに旧版の『ウルトラＱ』に興味が出た方は、本商品同様に安価な北米版がAMAZONで販売されていますので、そちらをチェックされると良いでしょう。欲を言えば、北米版で総天然色版ウルトラＱもお安く販売してくれないかな～、とか思ってみたりもしますw

I love japanese sci fi great story...very original....good service...

元祖Qはよく知ってましたが、これは初めてみました。元祖はほどほど引き継ぎつつ別物に挑戦してますね。タイトル忘れたがおちゃらけのオムニバス番組(ウルトラゾーンでした)の中間ですね。怪獣だから殺しちゃえってのは私も好きでないので良かったです。私は子役使うの嫌いですが、今回は2人、心引かれる演技してる子がいて、将来楽しみな感じです。

日本オリジナル版はすでに所持していたのですが、あまりにも安いのでImport版ですが、思わず購入してしまいました。通常観るのはこちらの方が利便かと思います。

国内仕様のブルーレイ再生機（SONY）で普通に再生できました。12話が６話ずつ２枚のディスクに振り分けられています。英語の字幕が出ますが、メニュー画面でOFFを選択できます。画質は問題なし。きれいです。「dark fantasy」や「怪奇大作戦」の「セカンドファイル」と「ミステリーファイル」も同じメーカーであればいいのに。
