Easy, no mess, endless fun
I bought this for my 1 year old who I thought was starting to show interest in holding a pen/crayon. I thought this would be a great alternative for her to scribble without making a mess since she's not very coordinated right now. When the item arrived I was impressed with the quality. There are a lot of these mats on Amazon and they vary in price so I was a little wary but I'm so happy I went with this brand. The mat did not have a weird smell and unfolded beautifully. The pens all worked and there were so many accessories to stamp, roll, and trace, and it comes with a handy carry case to keep everything together. So smart. The colors were vibrant when wet and when dry, there was no trace of what was there before. How quickly the marks go away, of course, has to do with the humidity level in your house but it didn't take long before there was a clear canvas ready for more play. While my 1 year old wasn't quite able to figure it out just yet (she was more interested in eating the pens), mom and dad actually had a good time playing with it while trying to show her :) and I have no doubt she will love it when she's a little older. Her older cousins aged 3-7 have a blast with it when they come over now. This was such a great purchase, I'm very happy with it and expect it will bring entertainment for years to come.

Perfect for a child who likes to draw
This mat is just what I needed for a 5-year old that I care for on occasion. She loves to draw, but every time she messes up she wants to start over with a new piece of paper. This solved that problem. Also, she's accidently gotten markers or crayons on her clothes, and if her mom or I don't notice it, it ends up being a stain. And, crayon and marker have ended up on my floor more that once. Being able to use water as the medium makes a difference! The mat packs up small, so it is easy to put away without taking up space and it is easy to set up, so the child can do that herself. It comes with templates for shapes and letters, as well as different sizes of pens, which means there are lots of options for creating. It has been a great item to keep a little girl busy, and it holds her attention. As you know, kids can want to do one thing and just a few minutes later be off to the next, but this coloring mat keeps her entertained. Another great thing about this is there is a little brother who has just learned to crawl involved in the mix, and in the past I've had to say over and over, "Make sure your brother doesn't get your crayons." Now, I am not as worried if he does get one of the pens because he won't end up with marker on his face or crayons in his mouth. If you have a child who likes to draw in your home, this coloring mat is a great purchase.

Great, MESS-FREE, UNLIMITED REUSE drawing product.
This drawing product is pretty dang cool. We get the best of both world as parents: something the kids love to do, drawing...and easy peezy clean-up, just wait for the canvas to dry up in minutes and you have a clean drawing pad to start over. This thing uses water inside the pens and brushes and when the water dries, the canvas is blank again. No mess. The pens and brushes: I've read in some posts that people are having a hard time unscrewing them to put water inside. I had no problem. The bigger white and blue pen even has the turning directions on them. The tips wick the water from the body so you just need to wet them to get them started before drawing on the canvas. Just submerge the whole tip in water for a minute then screw it back on and you're ready to go.The canvas has slits at each corner for the included suction cups to fit in. We have a metal backed chalk board for the kids that we use to hang the canvas on. Now they have a chalk board on one side and the water canvas on the other. Ideally the canvas is better suited to have on the floor to use, because the pens/brushes will have a constant flow of water to the tips as the kids draw. If you have it up like we do, you have to remind the kids to tip the pen down every once in a while to keep the tip wet.

Good learning toy
I got this as an indoor activity for my 18 month old. The product does say it's for three and up, but he seems to enjoy "coloring" on the mat with us, and I especially appreciate that it's just water being used and I don't have to worry about much of a mess! I also like how many additional pieces the mat came with, there is a lot of stuff for him to play with and learn from. It also came with a case, making it easy to transport. The only thing I didnt love was that the suction cups don't really work, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me and we still like playing with it!

Great birthday gift/fun and educational
I bought this for my grandson's 2nd birthday. He loves to color in coloring books and try to draw images on paper. I'm a middle school teacher and thought this mat would be a neat way for him to learn more about drawing shapes, tracing letters, and just drawing freestyle on one surface. True to his age, he also likes to color or draw on things that he should not, like walls, doors, and himself. This mat helps him stay focused on the mat and activities, plus the assorted activity items keep his attention longer. It's a good size mat and large enough for my oldest three year old grandson to draw or trace at the same time. The three year old likes the mat and activities so much, I'm thinking of buying one for him, too. Great birthday gift, good option to teach a few basic toddler skills, and a nice way to emphasize that sharing can be fun. Good quality mat, easy to clean and store, and the pens and extra items work fine. One thing to consider for a child under 3 or 4, since he is just two, we are careful not to leave him unattended. He still puts things in his mouth sometimes. This has not been an issue for his 3 yr old brother, though. Great gift that's quickly becoming a favored art activity.
