Having to return just because my dog was between sizes and I went down instead of up. The coat is made well and felt like it would be warm. Reflecting was nice too

Derby Originals is BY FAR the best company for dog outerwear we’ve come across!!!!We bought this Derby Originals Reflective Parka for our Doberman, Tebow, as it looks like the warmest Derby Originals dog coat yet. he already owns three Derby Originals Horse Tough 1200D Waterproof Winter Dog Coats (in size 26.5) In purple, brown and plaid to suit whatever mood he’s in, and we’ve ordered two of the Fleece Cold-Weather Adventure Dog Sweaters - - we’ll write a review once we’ve tried the sweaters out.Being a Doberman, Tebow has really thin fur and is shivery-cold from October through May in the Pennsylvania winters that seem to go on and on. He is also notoriously deep chested, and we never could find a coat to fit him. Enter Derby Originals and our problems were solved. They are horse-tough, so they withstand play time with Tebow’s besties, and they are warm and sized to give him maximum coverage. We’ve chosen to go a bit larger in size so his rump is completely covered(see the pictures) because warmth is such an issue. I think this Parka runs large, but for our purposes that’s very good.Some features that stand out when reviewing this Parka is the extended neck cover and full belly wrap which gives added coverage and warmth. The side ‘belly bands’ are reinforced STRONG Velcro attached to the no-rip ripstop material that makes all the dog coats so durable. The soft, padded inner lining is thicker than the other coats Tebow owns, which is perfect for colder weather. This Parka has reflective trim, unlike the other coats, as well, so it will be perfect for outings. As with all the Derby Originals dog and horse coats, the shoulder gussets allow freedom of movement. The heavy cording that trims the entire Parka is another feature which makes these coats so durable. An added feature which the other coats don’t have (and I wish they did) are the elastic straps that go under his hind legs to keep the coat in place. When Tebow’s really roughhousing with his friends this will be an added bonus.Tebow has worn his first two Derby Originals coats for the past two years and they are going strong. They have been HEAVILY worn and washed OFTEN! I cannot stress that enough! It is why we bought two coats in the first place, because we have months of mud, slush, rain and snow where we live. Tebow plays HARD, and when his friends are over the mud is flying! That means one coat is on his body and the other is in the washer. I hang them to dry to prevent premature damage from the dryer heat. Then it’s time to change clothes and the process continues. Now we will have four coats and two fleece sweaters, so this will ensure he’s always warm and toasty and I won’t have to stress over laundry so much. Spoiled? Yes, but we love our furry family member too much to have him shivering and miserable.The bottom line is I cannot recommend this company enough! They make good products, and they stand behind what they sell. We’ve never had a problem with anything we’ve purchased from Derby Originals, but the two-year guarantee gives peace of mind. I’ve tried other dog clothing companies and they either wouldn’t fit around Tebow’s chest or they were flimsy and wouldn’t have lasted even one winter, so back they went. I hope this helps and I hope your puppy enjoys his Derby Originals wear as much as Tebow does!!!

This is a nice coat but I needed to order a different version. The band that go around the stomach do not have elastic. They are not stretchy so it didn't fit my dogs shape well.Otherwise the Derby brand and coat is nice. I have other Derby coats I like a lot.This one is nice and warm. the extra wind collar is nicer then the ones without the wind collar for midwest winters.If it is really cold I would layer this with another one that covers the tummy area more but not many coats do

My dog is a 100lb doberman who is a very large sized dog for the breed (not due to being overweight). After looking at a lot of different dog coats that wouldn't have fit him right, I finally found this one. The dimensions were perfect for his size and it ended up fitting him perfect. He's a senior dog, so he needed a nice warm coat which this definitely is. It is very well built and I expect it will last him a very long time.

I love this jacket. FINALLY a jacket long enough for her length but skinny enough for her girth! Most jackets I have tried to but don’t fit because they’re too big in the girth but fit in length and vice versa. She is warm and cozy in this incredible purple parka. Truvy weighs 47.2lbs, she is an aussiedoodle, she is wearing the size L. This is the jacket I’ve always wanted for her!! I want all the colors and styles! It is perfectly waterproof! Her fur gets so matted when it gets wet! This is all around perfect! I couldn’t be more pleased!She is wearing my busy dog waterproof shoes as well in the photos! What a perfect pairing!!

My sweet 56lb Golden doodle, who loves to run and play in the snow, likes his new coat. He doesn’t get wet from the snow. I ordered an extra large to cover the length of his back, which it does. It’s easy to put on him and the elastic straps that go around his hind legs keep the coat from flapping around when it’s windy outside. We live in Colorado. The wind, cold, and snow can get really bad. This coat fit the bill. Warm and durable.

The coat fits well covering even halfway down the hind legs and well over the chest and belly. It is as described and feels that it would be warm also (I haven't yet used this in cold weather since I bought it this spring). And although it covers the chest, it is cut so that it isn't snug enough to hinder movement.

My 14 year old lab never wore a coat before in cold or rain. He just loved that type of weather. Weirdo. Now that he's older, that has changed. After only a few uses, he stands by the door waiting to have it put on. In dog, that means he really likes it.
