Mensa 10-Minute Crossword Puzzles

Not hard enough
I expected harder puzzles and am disappointed. The book is also very small, approx. 3x5 inches. Main complaint is with MENSA in name, expected puzzles that were more challenging. Other reviewer compared them to NYT Tuesday- well I dont even bother with those.

a great little book of crosswords
I usually buy the Mensa crossword-a-day calendar. In the past couple of years, I've been annoyed by obvious errors that I've found in some puzzles, plus I didn't like writing "around" the plastic calendar holder. So I ordered this book as well as the calendar. Maybe it's because this book was first published in 2011, I have not found any annoying "errors" in it. Some of the cluing may be a bit out of date, but then, so am I. I especially like that Mensa puzzles don't stoop to tricks like requiring you to draw a symbol for a series of letters (like a heart shape where letters H-E-A-R-T are in the middle on an answer), or write a word "backwards", or figure out some silly pun. Also, there aren't a lot of simple filler clues. The book is small, so there's not a lot of room for your hand to rest on the page while you work the puzzle, but I still find it easier than the calendar format. It's easier if you cleanly tear out the completed puzzles every ten pages or so. But the clues for the next puzzle are printed on the back of the puzzle before it, so be sure you don't tear out a page of clues inadvertently.

Sinfully practical ...
Doubtless your average MENSA type will enjoy this book of puzzles immensely and for that I say "Bravo - well played old chap". However, the pleasure and real joy can only be experienced by those who use pencils - and even the occasional eraser to complete these little gems...Those not blessed with 3 digit IQ's can revel in the fact that on the "cost per hour" enjoyment scale this little brain teaser is the bargain of the decade... While many of the MENSA types will complete this book in a week's subway commute, the marginally gifted may struggle thru a puzzle for weeks, months - even seasons! And therein lies the bargain - Celebrate your lack of genius and purchase a lifetime of frustration and fun for mere pennies a week!I was not compensated for this brilliant review and social commentary ... ( that's right - ZERO compensation beyond the simple pleasure of helping my fellow people-kind)

Genius puzzles with amusing solutions
I use this product for sanity and happiness. Working on the puzzles when I wake up in the middle of the night is a perfect solution rto staying off the blue lights. Mr. Piscop enjoys theater, literature, sports and music. He evokes my latent knowledge of a variety of subjects, assuring me that I haven’t lost my memory at age 77. He makes sure to sprinkle items from pop culture keeping it modern. My admiration to the author for his wit. My sincere appreciation for his delightful works.

nice puzzles
I bought mainly because the name Mensa was on it. This is a nice collection of puzzles. In terms of difficulty, if you are familiar with New York Times puzzles, I'd say this collection is about Tuesday difficulty, maybe some Wednesday level. Parts of them can be tricky for a younger person like me, when they reference music/actors from the '60s and '70s. One star off because the book is physically small and sometimes hard to write in.

Good
About half the puzzle is simple. Other half makes you think. Don’t be put off by Mensa

Liked it so much..I bought it twice!
This is a great little crossword book, easy to take with and a good way to learn new clues and answers. I bought it a second time because it is the best size to have along, I don’t always recall the puzzles or answers the second time around.

Clever puzzles in handy size, perfect for travel
The puzzles are mostly clever, quick and fun. The size is just right for travel or waiting rooms, the print large enough to be comfortable in various lighting, and the puzzles small enough to complete in 10 minutes or so. I wish they'd make more of these.

Small
Liked and ordered for myself. Couldn't find the Daily Mensa Crossword but this will suffice.

Partly useless
I bought "cross puzzles". It saif used. I thought it meant out of the box, may be wrinkled, or something like that, but I did not expect the first 50 patges to have puzzles already done by someone. and thetrefore useless to me
