Beautiful Renditions but Damaged Cover
The selections and performances were most touching, but the plastic CD cover came cracked in two places in spite of bubblewrapped packaging.

Thanks for the Music
There is not much out there for really good Thanksgiving music, but this fills the gap. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is the orchestra sounds a shade ragged in spots, but not enough to ruin the piece. I am partial to good instrumental music, but this album combines very good choral and instrumental work. It is very inspirational and up-lifting music, which builds to the final piece, "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing," which in my opinion is one of the most moving and spirit-filled numbers I have ever heard, anywhere. It is better than the one done by The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and orchestra, which says alot.

Powerful, soothing, inspiring; all in one disk
A soul soothing and inspiring medley of folk spiritual hymns by the BYU Choir and ensemble. The rendition of Alex Boye of "I want Jesus to Walk With Me" was one of the most powerful invocations I have ever heard. It brought tears to my eyes. The American heart felt tradition of singing praises to the Lord continues. Listen and be taken back in time to the great migrations of the 1800 across the plains through the music. It is just a fantastic compilation.

hymns
Having watched over and over, a you-tube video of the BYU choirs singing 'Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing', I bought the CD and have since ordered the DVD so I can watch as well as listen - I find this a very inspirational, moving collection. It has also led me to order another CD by the BYU choirs and I am looking forward to that although I haven't yet heard any of the content of this latest-ordered CD. Gwen

If you like Folk Hymns and "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" - BUY THIS NOW!
The sound quality is absolutely amazing on this CD. The old Audio Tapes, VHS, and Digital Videos all have serious volume and quality issues. This CD has obviously been remastered because when I'm listening to THE BEST RENDITION of "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing," I can hear every instrument and not have to blast the stereo to hear the song.

Incredible!
There is nothing to dislike about this CD. A friend made me listen to it several years ago, against my will. But I had to listen to it again and again, and now it's a Thanksgiving staple in my household, or pretty much anytime I want to feel good about God and Country. The arrangement of My Shepherd Will Supply My Need makes me weep, and the Battle Hymn of the Republic makes me stand up and cheer.

A Thanksgiving of American Folk Hymns
I saw this on a PBS special. These students are every bit as good as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The songs were a good mixture of standards with a few I hadn't heard before thrown in. Very well arranged and the singing and blend was excellent.

"Come the Fount of Every Blessing" - possibly the most ...
"Come the Fount of Every Blessing" - possibly the most powerful musical performances I've ever seen. Spectacular - also, "Abide with Me; 'Tis Eventide" perfectly done -
