I tried the chili beancurd oil.I've never tried a product like this before and I had no expectations and no plans for how I would use this when I ordered it.I first tried this product with pasta. When I opened the jar I was surprised to see different colors and textures. Maybe it separated in my cold kitchen? I scooped a couple spoonfuls out and added it to the hot pan of noodles. It quickly melted and mixed in with the pasta.The taste is unique but good. Keep in mind this product is SALTY so start small and add more as you need it. The nutrition label shows a serving, or 1/10 of the container, has 99% daily value of sodium! The product is flavorful and has some spice but not hot spicy. More salty than spicy. I was expecting it to be hotter since it has chili in the name, but it's still good.I'm excited to see how I can incorporate this into future foods. I would order this again.

I’ve seen chili oil beancurd on restaurant menus but have never tried it. When I saw this I thought it was time to try. Was surprised by the sweet, slightly fruity, taste of the chili oil. Not very hot but enough to say it’s chili oil. The beancurd is in smooth lumps that we served on rice. The oil was a great compliment to the rice and the beancurd is very enjoyable. Next time, when I see this on the restaurant menu, I won’t hesitate. It is delicious.

this lao gan ma was not my favorite that i've tried so far. it was extremely salty, and while i'm used to the chili oil taste, i felt that the bean curd was a little bit too on the thick side for my liking. it was in large granules which i was not in favor of, and i genuinely did not like it. i thought that the serving spoon was a nice touch, and that i did like, but the actual chili sauce itself was disappointing to me.

The products seal was popped already before opening. That’s a huge sign of bacteria being able to contaminate the product. There was still the plastic ring around the top as a sign of no one opening it yet but all the signs as the seal being broken. Threw the jar away for safe measure are I didn’t want to poison myself with god know what kind of bacteria that could have gotten in. waste of money and really disappointed

This review is for the Chili Oil Beancurd. I’ll admit I’m new to experimenting with vegan style foods, but if you’re going vegan for your health, then this is not for you. Each serving is reported to be 85 grams. From that, you get 99% of your daily sodium (2270 mg) and 68% of your daily fat (53 gr). This also gives you 1120 calories. This is very unhealthy.The tofu is extremely soft, and with the oil surrounding it, this is really a mushy bite. The bite is overwhelmingly salty and oily. The flavor under it is decent, but the salt is just too much, and the texture is just too soft.There is potential here, but a better execution is needed.Note the protective wrapper is the full wrapper, so be careful opening if you want to be able to read the label.
