RF Viewer is a PC-based, RF spectrum analyzer that includes both hardware and software. It uses a wireless, USB dongle that interfaces with your Windows PC running Touchstone-Pro data analysis software. The wideband, RF spectrum analyzer spans a frequency range of 24 MHz up to 1766 MHz, which makes it ideal for use in a broad array of RF-related applications. RF Viewer re-defines the mobile RF spectrum analyzer. The wireless DVB-T dongle is small and light-weight, and when combined with Touchstone-Pro software offers performance and features comparable to larger, more expensive instruments. RF Viewer employs a DVB-T dongle based on the Realtek RTL2832U chipset that supports a USB 2.0 interface. It can be used as a Software Defined Radio (SDR). The folks at Osmocom developed software to interact with the chipset and called it RTL-SDR. The Touchstone-Pro software application is installed as separate binary files, along with RTL-SDR binaries, support and license files. Nuts About Nets supports RF Viewer by developing PC-based software to enhance the functionality of the device. The Touchstone-Pro application has been designed to work with the RF Viewer wireless dongle.

Needs work, not ready to be sold as a spectrum analyzer.
Retired EE-Within 20 minutes of installation and fooling around I found that the unit had serious problems- band-wide spurious -80dB spikes anywhere I used a narrow band (10 MHz) scan, and an approximately 40 dB(!) error in signal strength. It shows only -100dBm where 2 other calibrated meters measure -60dBm. Changing to a better antenna made no difference. This was noted on 800MHz and 1150 Mhz. My guess is it is everywhere, at least for the Nooelec Tiny dongle I received. From the Nuts support I found that: the spurious spikes for narrow band scans were confirmed (and may be corrected in a future software release) , and that THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANY TESTING FOR SENSITIVITY, NOISE FLOOR, LINEARITY ACROSS THE ADVERTISED SPECTRUM. Not with a direct connection to a frequency generator, nor have they done any characterization of the antenna shipped. So any numbers showing for signal strength are pretty much meaningless. I'm not quibbling about +-10dB here, we're talking 40dB off on just what I tested in a brief checkout. The Touchstone software is very easy to use, but the combined product has not been given the technical attention it deserves and badly needs if one is hoping to use it as a spectrum analyzer.

Completely takes over your laptop. Simple bandwidth ranges can't be set. Don't buy it.

The older chip doesn't play with Windows 10 because the required driver keeps getting written over by Windows. Returned the item.

This has become a favorite tool for setting up.
Having over 15 wireless microphones and I.E.M. (In Ear Monitor) systems that I use weekly this has become a favorite tool for setting up all of my frequencies. The price is a steal for the use that I've gotten out of this!
