101 Christmas Songs for Violin

My twin granddaughters just lit up when they opened this Christmas gift. The book is chock full of a great variety of Christmas songs --a few sacred traditional but far more contemporary pop culture Christmas repertoire. It really suits every taste. It will really entertain kids in a good way!

There were a variety of difficulty in playing these songs so book will be used for years.

I bought this for my son. He has been teaching himself and enjoys this book.

Update: 1 year later. I can play 90% of the songs on sight reading (yes sight reading - true I've had the book for a year, but I haven't opened it in 10 months since last Christmas until today). The rest are within my capabilities with a little practice.Only complaint: the music for "I came upon a midnight clear" is wrong. It's a different song entirely. I've heard it, but I can't place the name.Original review:Great book. Has almost every song I wanted. Probably a good book for a beginner to intermediate player. I am a beginner and was able to play about a third of the songs on sight reading, and with some practice will do well with another third. There are a few songs that are far enough above my skill level that I haven't attempted them any more beyond the first try. BUT I see this as a good thing. Room to grow. Maybe by next year I will be ready for them.I've only found one negative to this book. I also bought the matching book for Alto saxaphone for my son, because we had hoped to play together (weird combo I know lol). Unfortunately they are not keyed to work together. Maybe it's because it's winds and strings, and 2 string books or 2 wind books would have worked together.I didn't take away a star because it was my own mistake. The listing never claimed they were keyed to be played together.Very happy with this book.

My son plays violin and none of his books have any chords on them. It would be so nice if some books could just include some chords so I could play some simple guitar with him.Nothing fancy, just a few letters marking where chord changes are. If anyone knows of any nive vilon books with some guitar chords in them it would be greatly appreciated.Otherwise, good book.

I'm a beginner violinists and it was great with the beginner and intermediate of the same song. It was fun trying some of the fancy stuff in the intermediate version of the same song

My daughter loves playing in church. She can barely wait to play some of these this Christmas season. She loves this book.

A fun and large collection of both traditional and contemporary Christmas songs. Very playable, easy to intermediate. All in first position.

Other then a few missing current songs, this is a good Christmas song book to have.

Muchas canciones navideñas conocidas y desconocidas fácilmente de tocar y divertidamente. Si estás en nivel intermedio es una herramienta útil . Si estás empezando a tocar , descubrirás que si es posible poco a poco ya que algunas piezas son cortas .

Bought for the Mother on Christmas… it was that easy… by Boxing Day she played christmas tunes to me… in public… need I say more 😂. Prior to that the last time she played violin was when my mother was 20 odd so a good 30-40 years and bam music so… I’d say its quite easy

I’m an adult learner and have been playing for 1 year and 9 months. I was concerned I wouldn’t find much I could play but found many songs in this book that I can. Really nice and large selection of songs. Definitely will always keep this book in my collection. I took my book to a local printer and had the spine cut off and a coil binding added (all of 5 minutes for them to do) and it lays flat on my music stand and easy page turning). (See pic)
