Delicious but definitely needs steaming over water
I was craving zongzi and didn’t want to make a trip to a specialty supermarket just for this one thing. While it is a tad pricey (averages out to $5 each and these are smaller than the regular sized ones) it is worth it if you like these sticky rice snacks. These should definitely be steamed over water for 20-25 minutes in accordance with the package instructions. The properly steamed ones should come easily out of the bamboo leaves and maintain the chewy sticky rice consistency. Texture was great, wasn’t as salty as I expected considering the salted egg yolk in it.I tried heating one up in a microwaveable steamer and it turned out solid as a rock, completely unsalvageable. See picture attached with the white napkin under the food, it was so hard I can hear the thud when I knock it with my chopsticks.Overall, these vacuum sealed ones should last longer if left unopened. I just ordered two more. Until this covid thing is over, it’s unlikely that I’ll want to go hunting around the specialty supermarkets for these, might as well keep a couple on hand for the next time I feel like eating sticky rice.

Not what I expected.
I just did not like the flavor and neither did anyone else in my family. I gave it 3 stars though because the experience was cool and honestly, I could have done something wrong when making it. It was a first time. I would love to try one of the more flavorful zongzi with sausage or dates in it.

Too expensive
3 pieces for this price? Way too expensive and the don’t taste like what my parents used to make

Boil the dumplings in the water instead of steaming
Instead of following the instructions on the package, I boiled them in the water for 20minutes and they came out tasted really good. It would take you for more than an hour to steam them on top of the water for them to be ready to eat.

Shipped, Convenient, Tasty
Boiled in hot water for 20 minutes. Added soy sauce drizzle and it was perfect. It not as big and does not come with fatty meat like the ones from Chinatown. However for something that is packaged to ship, it is good.

This product has no best-before date
There is nowhere to find a best-before date on both outer and inner package. Not sure whether it is okay to eat them. I steamed it for half an hour, but it tasted like rice that comes out underdone. No way to buy it again.

Great product
This sweet rice dumpling is really convenient and tastes great. It arrived two days after I order it, and I direct put in the microwave and sprinkle some water to cook it and taste awesome! Cooking with the steamer is a huge work, but it worth it. I recommend everyone steams it!
