Automatic Fish Feeder, Moisture-Proof Electric Auto Fish Feeder for Aquarium or Fish Tank, Fish Food Vacation Feeder Timer Fish Food Dispenser, 200ML, Black

I built a stand for this feeder to clip on in order to use it on the back side of my aquarium. I used it twice on long vacation that was 1 week and 2 weeks. Each time, there was no issue with the feeder. Since I am not using this feeder daily, I do not encounter battery issues. I also remove the battery once I no longer use them. The only negative I would say are the fish food that goes into the feeder need to be small or sufficiently crushed otherwise it would jam the opening for a smaller fish tank like mine. Also, sometime that food disperse is not sufficient or too much depending on what rolls to the front to be dispense.

No instructions are included as to how to mount it on different types of tanks, while leaving the cover or hood on so the fish do not jump out while one is absent.I have a small pond & several tanks, but my main one is a 50 gal TruVue plexiglass tank on a stand up against the wall, about 1.5" out. The plexiglass top is part of the tank, and there is a narrow 2" wide slot in the back (for the filter) that starts about 3/4" in., plus cutouts under the hood for service.Two other feeders did not fit, since the clamp's adjuster screw sticks out the back way too far (stupid design!).This feeder rotates 360°, so I could mount the clamp backwards; it then sort of fit on the L-shaped back lip. When perpendicular to the wall,the rotatable feeder sticks out over the hood, which obviously doesnt work, so I rotated it almost sideways to be over the slot. It dumps the flake food in about a 2-1/2"-3" wide swath, so much food often ends up on top and not in the tank (see pic).The flake food tends to clump in the feeding chute, so sometimes the fish (or the top) gets a lot, sometimes barely anything. Small pellets weren't any better. As long as it averages out, I assume the fish will be OK.One can pop off the mounting clamp plate and put an included round 2-sided sticky pad directly on the bottom of the feeder, 'gluing' it to the tank, but then it is non-removeable. No plain plate(s) for the sticky pad was included, nor a suction pad mount so that it could be similarly mounted on a different tank. :-(Setting it for up to 3x/day feeding was easy as long as the Instructions are on hand; Do NOT lose them! (Take a pic, just in case.)The feeder is better than letting the fish starve while on vacation, a fish-sitter who overfeeds, or one of those calcium vacation blocks that release who-knows-how-much food and messes up the water chemistry. It does offer settable feeding times, since it is better to feed fish just a little and fairly often.I just wish there were more and better mounting options and a narrower/more targeted feed chute.

When you can't always be there to feed the fish, this is a great product. Set and forget (except to fill now and again). Took a bit to get the right amount of food to come out- trial and error - but now good.(I do miss the fish congretating when they see me- but they still do when i give them extra food)

I trusted myself because I already had two feeders bought from this same seller that work perfectly, and I bought two more units, I asked someone in the United States to receive them and send them to Ecuador, and I was really surprised because they both arrived defective. I wrote a feedback to the seller 1 week ago to see what options he had, and I'm still waiting for him to reply. I contacted Amazon and the response is that if I'm not in the US and I can't return them, then there's nothing to do. In short, I do not recommend this product or this seller. Amazon also did not help me to contact the seller by any means other than these reviews, for which I am very disappointed.

11/3/2023 update. Got a replacement for the original item. Both units have the same problem. There is a setting for "circle" (it really means rotation or revolutions or number of feedings). When set as "1", there is no rotation and no food is delivered and the fish could starve. When set as "2", then there is one rotation and food is delivered. Seems like the software for this batch of feeders is not correct. Instructions are just as bad as before.Original: I spent several hours to "figure out" how to set the feeding cycle, because the instructions are not very clear.The instructions uses the word "circles," they really mean repeat feeding.On the right side of the face are 3 rows that can be set for feeding times. The first row works fine. I cannot figure out how to use the 2nd and 3rd rows.Otherwise, the device does work as an automated fish feeder.

Great quality. Works great. Easy to assemble and set up. I’m sure my fish love it now that they’re getting fed on time! DOESNT MAKE NOISE ! Very stable and has good capacity. Fits a lot of food both grain and flakes!

This a really good one if you get one that's not defective, I think most of the negative reviews are from ones that were defective that they thought was how it's supposed to be. The sliding door on the defective ones will easily open, where when the feeder rotates the food pushes it open more and makes it dump too much..now if you want to know the chances of having a defective one just know ordered probably 10 of these and only have 2 that I've kept..if it's defective i send it back, I can tell immediately when I receive it by just placing my finger on the lid and seeing if it easily slides back when I rub my finger on it. It should not be that easy to open. Honestly it's annoying to keep wasting my time replacing them but I like this one when it works and I have OCD so I like them all to be the same or else I'd never buy this.*update - customer service has gone above and beyond reaching out to me twice about this, I am updating my review to add another star
