... because I had read this authors previous book and love, love
I bought this book because I had read this authors previous book and love, love, loved it. And I adored this one just as much. With the lovable Jane being the kind of girl I can totally relate to, Teo being an absolute sweetheart and Ravi just being a funny dork. I also liked how Hall went over the topic of bisexuality and how she made it a really great subplot.I loved the whole book and I read it in a few hours. It is one that I would definitely go back to soon

A super sweet read but felt too young – 3 stars
I saw Signs Point to Yes the other week on someone’s blog and I immediately reserved it from my library because it sounded amazing! Sadly it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.Let’s start with the characters. I thought Teo and Jane were both pretty likable :) I didn’t love them, and they weren’t amazing, but I definitely liked them. While they weren’t the most interesting people in the world I still liked and related to them. In Signs Point to Yes Jane is coming up to making decisions about university and she’s struggling to decide if that’s what she really wants to do. Teo on the other hand is struggling to get along with his step-dad and debates looking for his real father. Both of them had issues they needed to work through and I liked that they helped each other get there but ultimately they grew as individuals. While I liked the characters I thought they sounded a bit young. The whole writing style of Signs Point to Yes felt more middle grade than YA to me, which made it more difficult to relate to Jane and Teo. Also, there wasn’t really a plot. And with contemporary I’m less concerned about plot – it’s mostly about characters for me – but I felt like the author didn’t really go anywhere with the book. On one hand it was nice that Jane and Teo didn’t have everything sorted out at the end of the book because real life doesn’t work like that, things take time, but then looking back the book seems a bit meh.Overall Signs Point to Yes is a super sweet read! I thought Jane and Teo were adorable together, even with the writing feeling too young, and I wanted more of them :)3 stars
