Dutch Jell Bulk Fruit Pectin Mix for Making Jams & Jellies, 2lb. Resealable Bag - Non-GMO Dextrose

I make a lot of jam so I thought I'd try this bulk pectin. It takes 8tbls+1tsp to equal one box of pectin. Tried the recommended 6tbls and the set was too soft. It works great but I'm not sure I'm saving any money

I did add a cup of sugar per batch for some sweetness but the pectin worked good and was easy to use to make jam

I have been canning for 2 decades and have my recipes down to a science. I sell at a local farmers market and have been looking for things in bulk to cut down my costs. I decided to give this pectin a try based on some of the positive reviews.My first clue that this product was crap should have been when I had to sift it because I found dime sized flakes of dark gray... I have no idea what, but it sure as heck didn't belong in my jelly.Once sifted, I used twice as much of this pectin as my recipe normally calls for (literally the entire 2 lb bag!) and my jelly is still not setting.Complete crap and if Amazon's policies allowed for refunds of grocery items, you bet I'd be knocking down their door demanding my money back.

I bought this because I am teaching myself how to make jams.I made a batch of Pineapple Mango Jalapeño jam but it didn't set using liquid pectin. So I used this and reprocessed it. It worked. It took about 2 weeks but it setI also used this to make strawberry jam and it set up within 24 hours.I got the jam making bug now. I am going to use this whole bag.

Other than being put in a box with wrenches when shipped, which of course led to a torn bag and about a cup of powder all over EVERYTHING, this works well in jams & jellies. I use about 20% more than the recipe calls for, and have had good results.

Love this product used many times

This is my second purchase from this company. I am very happy with the results.The delivery...not so much.Pkge was left on edge of porch and was rained on and totally destroyed.Even though the product was in a ziplock bag, it was so saturated that a portion of the product also got wet.Since it was not the fault of the manufacturer, I did not send it back and used what I could.
