I have indoor outdoor adopted stray cats. Or the mother who dropped the litter in my garage was a stray at least.To keep this shorter I'll just talk of the two cats that roost in the garage.They were very skeptical and weary of this new item at first, and it just lay unused for couple days.Expecting that I didn't put in their favorite box at first because I didn't want to drive them out of their warm place. We'd gotten a cold spell (usually could just say winter, but we didn't get much of one this year) and both been sharing same box at night for warmth. Or the sisters box sense she always claims the best spots.So this went on top of the cat bead in the other box. During day wasn't really cold enough for them to share a box, so sister would kick brother out, and I felt bad because he wasn't using his box but sleeping elsewhere. Had almost given up on it, but than I found sister in her brothers box using this mat and having figured out it warming property, brothers box was hers. Allowing brother to move into the now vacated inferior box without the mat.So that's how I know it really works. Now both boxes have one, and sisters taken her original box back. I'm also enrolling the brother in cat judo so he won't be such a pushover.I actually got two types, this and shag type. The thermal reflector works in both, but I'm unsure which they like better of the fabric types only that I'm sure they like both. When the brother got his very own mat, he went out of his way show his appreciation by purring while needing it with his paws while looking at me, was cute. While the sisters earlier response had only been to look at me like.. human slave, why take you so long to buy this for me?

Great product! I purchased this for my little chihuahua to put inside her kennel for when she sleeps at night. She is already loving it as soon as I opened it. I purchased the size XS small and it fits perfectly inside her kennel. The slit on the corners make the fit work! Great quality bed! Highly recommend! I will be purchasing another one for my bigger dog!

I bought the extra small for my cat. The 14" by 22". It also fits perfectly in her sleepypod air carrier. I always find her sleeping in there when it gets chillier in the house. I've had it for a few months now and I have no complaints. She threw up on it once and it was very easy to clean. Threw it in the washer and I just let it air-dry afterwards. I'm not confident enough to throw it in the dryer since it has that special lining inside that I'm afraid will get messed up somehow if I do.I even got the biggest size for myself. It honestly keeps me very comfortable in the coldest room in my house. I keep it draped on the love seat where I sit most of the time and my cat will sit right next to me on the pad with me.It doesn't make you sweat. Unless you insist on wearing afrillion layers of clothing and blankets then yes you will get a bit too warm.Both sizes I bought are the tan color. I love that you don't need electricity for these to work, for me that's a huge advantage in more ways than one.Update: I bought a couple more of these pads to put in other beds around the house for my furbaby. As soon as I put one of the new ones in another bed, she went straight for it. I went to pick her up an hour later and she was very cozy and warm- so yeah it works. Mom and furbaby approved.

I bought this self-warming pad as a bed for the K&H Pet Barn I’ve set up to shelter a stray cat I affectionately named mama cat. It’s very good quality, has a good thickness and anti-skid fabric on reverse side so it doesn’t slide around. Initially, I had the soft pad on top of a travel pillow stuffed with foam, but as it has gotten much colder I purchased a K&H electric heating mat to replace the travel pillow. Mama cat seems to approve and she’s been using the shelter almost every night since I set it up. She’s even in there during the day just lounging. It collects some pieces of leaves but it’s very easy to take out the mat and brush it off. I’m purchasing a couple more so that I can rotate them out in between cleanings.

To be fully transparent, we didn't actually buy this for a crate pad. We actually just bought it to use on our American Bulldog's bed, because her short hair doesn't do her any favors on cold nights. We keep the house pretty cool at night, since we sleep under a heavy comforter, but I wanted her to be comfortable too. This works just wonderfully for that purpose. We placed it on top of her memory foam mattress and, even after her laying on it for a few minutes, I can place my hand on it and already feel the warmth. It was exactly what we were looking for! I'd just love to see a version that is totally flat, without the cutouts for the crate, so that it didn't twist up so much when she turns.

I purchased this crate pad because a coworker had one in the office for her dog. I love that it's lightweight, soft and easy to wash. Our English bulldog usually chews up and destroys everything, but for some reason he really enjoys just resting on this crate pad...go figure! At night I also spray it with a "Pet Calming Lavender Spray" and he enjoys a great nights rest.

I was sceptical ordering a couple of these for feral cats. I live on a farm AKA cat dumping station. I put 3 of these in dog houses around the property. With wood chips and straw also. When I check the large dog houses the cats are always huddled together on the pads. So they must be warmer vs straw and chips. They seem to be well made. I would definitely recommend to anyone with pets. Shipped quickly too !

This is my second one: for a different outdoor cat? If he's going to be hanging around my yard and eating up my cat food, the little fella should have a warm bed.We don't have an outdoor electrical outlet. Weird oversight in house construction.But we don't get snow anymore. We only got the smallest conceivable dusting every 7 years or so, before. Frost, we do get. And these are not kitties who like my garage.This item is best-used inside another kitty-house or kitty-bed option, when used outside.And sooooo luxuriously soft!

Ok but my did not like the feel

It is the only bed mat that my pup hasn't destroyed and pulled apart or ripped up within days of giving it to her. Sometimes she takes it out of her crate and drags it to where she wants to sleep, so I'd say its a favorite of hers.

It's very soft and my dog likes it. I actually have it in the car so she won't be cold when I do errands in the winter. I have another one in the house. We can all fit on it for movie night.

Cats love these. I have placed them in an outdoor cat house. Little pricey for what you get though.
