The salt lamp arrived well packaged with extra bubble wrap. There is some weight to the salt lamp which means it won't be easy to accidentally to knock over. This lamp is a light bulb in a metal basket with large chunks of pink Himalayan salt. They are a great addition to the home, it looks cool, creates a nice ambience and can be used as an alternative to bight lights.It comes with a 3A UK plug and an inline dimmer. The salt chunks (which are not food grade, so no licking them) were in a plastic bag and contained silica gel to prevent moisture damage. There is an Energy label on the packaging is rated E. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because the heat generated from the included 15W E14 halogen pygmy bulb is used to heat any moisture on the salt chunks. The bulb is protected by a shield so that the sharp edges of the salt does not damage the bulb. The assembly is easy. Remove the bag of Himalayan salt chunks out of the basket and place the Himalayan salt chunks into the basket.It has a distinctive look and when powered up it emits a warming pink glow. True Himalayan salt lamps are made from salt harvested in Pakistan and is believed to be millions of years old, and although it is very similar to table salt, the small amounts of minerals it contains give it the pink colour.I got the salt lamp because I believe that it is a natural ionizer which basically means it changes the electrical charge of the circulating air. Salt is hygroscopic which means it attracts water particles from the air and then is evaporated off as the salt solution is heated from the light bulb. This forms the negative ions.

Update 1 to say that although everything else I said is true, I did have an issue this morning with the lamp flickering. Yesterday (first day) it was on all day with no issues, but today it began to flicker shortly after I turned it on. I followed advice found in the "questions" section on here, and removed some of the chunks and placed them back in a different configuration, more away from the center.... the lamp has behaved since. Will update and change rating if it happens again . Update 2 Well it has happened again ... flickered a bit yesterday which was day three of using it, although it stopped after I moved the chunks again but today it decided to first flicker then blow the bulb very shortly after I turned it on. Have ordered a new bulb for it, but if that does not solve the problem, then this will become a one star review. At this point am very disappointed because I have only had it a very few days and loved it.Update 3. Put a specialist pigmy salt lamp bulb in and it has worked perfectly ever since. Compared the one i took out, and that one seems much poorer quality so think that was the issue all along. Hoping so anyway. Next is my original review.This lamp looks stunning. There were definitely enough rocks to fill it very well, unlike some other reviewers that have had issues, and it looks gorgeous lit up. The dimmer seems to work well. Only just gotten the lamp so no issues yet with moisture - shall have to see how that goes. So far, I love it, and would recommend it as a lovely feature. I already know the health benefits of salt lamps having had a more traditional one in the past. This one attracted me as it was different and fitted in with my decor. Looks very stylish. It's beautiful! It was very well and safely packaged, and it was delivered safely and as per instructions. The bulb was already in the lamp, so all I had to do was to put the salt pieces in the lamp and plug it :)I bought two lamps as I want to give one to a friend as a Christmas present!It works well for now, but I've just plugged it in so I'll update the review if something changes.

Love the product although I was expecting it to be slightly bigger. Did not like how it arrived, I live in an apartment block and the delivery guy left it in the main lobby. One of my neighbours took it in for me, I was surprised when she handed me the product box with a sticker on it for my address. (So you can see what my parcel is)

Decent quality. Would have been better if there was a few more rocks to make it look more full. Overall a decent night lamp that is not too bright.

Works great is nice and bright, i love the dimmer function but the picture on this listing clearly shows loads of himalayan salt chunks when in actual fact the amount i got barely covers the bulb area

Great lamp the box was damaged which was shame as was a gift and the Amazon label was plastered all over it and it looked open . But lamp is fab but shame it wasn’t packaged better .

looks good in the bedroom and it makes me feel better when i sleep , light can be turned really low so it doesn't bother you
