Steven Curtis Chapman ~ This Moment

In a word - WOW! -
This album is incredible, wow. Steven Curtis Chapman surprise me with this project, for me one of the best yet. The music is completely out of what we are accustom to here from him. Normally, some groups start sounding the same all the time. Not with Steven Curtis Chapman, every album is different, but this is the top of the cake, you can listen the whole album two or three times in a row. The Miracle Of The Moment is definitely a great opening for the album, Broken a sad true but with a solution. Cinderella, to know the reason why he wrote it makes me cry, I can't imagine being in his shoes and to write an awesome song like that one. Kind of Jason Crabb's - I Sure Miss You -. Continuing with the album, Yours blows me up. Something Crazy is amazing. Children of God what a song. One Heartbeat At A Time is more like Steven Curtis Chapman traditional country style. My Surrender another great song. You Are Being Loved - another wow - what a song, the lyrics, the message, the music - wow again, doesn't sound nothing like SCC, is totally a different approach. If I would've heard it in the radio I would've never imagine is SCC; the best song of the album. Definition Of Me, great message. With One Voice is the song that makes you go back a play it all again. 100% I recommended - unless you wanting to get the new version that has extra songs (one of the is the Acoustic Version for Cinderella).

I agree .. too repetitive
I was always a huge SCC fan. But I tend to agree with those here who have complained that the choruses are too often just one-line repeats, over and over. I've only heard this album once, so if it's destined to grow on me, great, but first impressions are, bleah. This music is way too formulaic. Nice banging of the drums, playing of the strings, swooning of the choirs, and repetition, repetition, repetition of inspirational messages. But, first round of listening, I don't feel like I heard much creativity, inspired from the heart and soul. Meanwhile there are some attempts to try to evolve with modern music but much of it just not very well done.I do, however, like the simplicity of the messages, and I occasionally like the choir-oriented background vocals that sort of make it sounds like a church full of families singing along now and then.My favorite albums from SCC were "For The Sake of the Call" and "Signs of Life", the former of which was deep and thoughtful (both musically and lyrically), the latter of which was more Nashville twang and soul than depth but wow did it move my soul and have me swaying. But my first impression of this one is that SCC is getting tired and bored with songwriting.

My daughters and I love it...
I stopped listening to Christian music about 10 years ago; I just didn't enjoy the sound anymore. However, I was sent the song Cinderella in my email and I decided to purchase the CD. I LOVE IT! Steven Curtis Chapman delivers up tempo songs that pull you in and make you feel like you can worship God without listening to the same hokey cookie-cutter worship music that most artists sell these days. My daughters and I dance around the living room and clean the house while listening to him. His sound is classic, I've missed listening to it. This CD is definitely worth it! And To the Chapman family: I'm sorry about your daughter and sister.

Beautiful
Steven Curtis Chapman has long proven himself to be a fantastic musician, singer, songwriter -- this album is proof that he is still going strong -- It is an album that is worthy of everyone's library and of course everyone knows his hit wonder -- Dancing with Cinderella. If I were to compile a CD of such songs -- Dancing with Cinderella would play next to Wayne Watson's Water Color Ponys (a song about boys growing up).Get this one.

The Slipper Fits Once Again
Steven Curtis Chapman once again uses the talent God has blessed him with for another awesome album that will touch all who listen. You cannot help but think about the loss of his 5 year old daughter last May while listening to Cinderella but also picture Steven dancng with his oldest daughter at her wedding this month with his son singing the song for his Dad and sisters. This is more than just another album, Cinderella will last far past the striking of the clock at midnight!

This Moment is Moving and Meaningful
I bought this CD for myself some months ago. I enjoyed it so much that I recently bought it for my youngest son for Father's Day. Chapman's song, Cinderella, is a wonderful song about how important a little girl's relationship is with her father and a great reminder of how fast they grow up. I enjoyed the entire CD. Chapman has a way of telling a story with his music. Every song was a hit for me.

What more can be said!
Came in time for my dd to work on her son's graduation. I thought the song was sad, but she heard it as the end of one time in his life and the beginning of another, perhaps better time. So. Came on time, packaging was excellent, nothing broken. This man has such a strong message for Todays Christians.
