Hydro-Gear71530 Kit Center S Genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Part

The ZT-2200(EZT) manufactured by Hydro-Gear is probably the most common hydro pump for ZTR mowers sold in big box stores. in my case a Husqvarna RZ5426 purchased from Lowes in 2012. Over time the pumps get worn and the turning and driving response gets weaker and weaker. Most repair shops will not rebuild this unit but instead will offer a complete replacement unit saying these units are not serviceable. This is not true. Other reviewers have stated this and I can confirm that rebuilding this unit is not that difficult. Rather than purchasing a new mower (have you checked prices lately...............OUCH!) or installing a new replacement unit (upwards of $600 or more EACH plus labor). Instead, with a little mechanical ability and some pretty good youtube videos, I managed to rebuild both L & R hydropumps using center sections 71530, 71529, a seal kit 70853, gear oil and some RTV for right around $300. In my book that is well worth my time (and honestly a few not so nice words). TIP: The biggest difficulty in the repair is the the the tiny bypass plate. Some youtube videos had you holding this tiny part in place with a finger while installing the center section. My finger would not fit so I solved that problem by using a zip tie to hold the bypass plate in place then removing the zip tie when the center section was almost completely in place. This will make more sense when you are doing the work. Save yourself a lot of $$$$$ and give it a try, you CAN do it!

I have a zero turn cub cadet 46" cut with a steering wheel. The left wheel motor got weaker and weaker and I had to do something. Buy new motor or buy complete new mower. I was told there was nothing I could do for the weak motor. I did some digging and found from hydro gear the complete break down of motor and a list of parts. With a you tube search, new parts as needed and some time spent in the garage I, who am not a mechanic, but do know how to use tools, rebuilt the weak motor put it back on the mower and it works better than the other one. I may do it next year. Yes, this is not a simple thing but if you take time and follow the diagrams, most who are handy with their hands can do this.

Took me 90 mins to complete and will keep me going for a few more years!!! Perfect fit and restored my hydro pump to like new!!!

Perfect fit and worked! Solved problems with transmission

I installed the new center section and did it properly. When I ran it, it turned a little and then made a "clunk" sound and stopped turning. I disassembled it and there was a second bypass "key" wedged in the pump. It destroyed the center section and the pump. This was not my mistake because I only had one bypass key and it was in its proper place at disassembly. The second key had to have been in the new center section when it came from the vendor. I am hoping for a response from this review. If not I will contact customer service for a replacement of both parts.To follow up, I have sent a message to the vendor. If he sends me the replacement parts I need to repair my drive I will revise this review in his support. We will see what kind of business he runs!

Waited over a week to receive part just to have to turn around and return it. Very unhappy due to my inability to fix my move and mow my grass. Part had grooves/scratches in milled surface area which would have led to premature failure. Very poor quality control especially for an expensive and very critical part. Seller did allow a return for refund but still wasted a lot of my time.

This part is fantastically packaged. If it arrives damaged, your shipper has some explaining to do.This is an exact OEM replacement for Hydro Gear ZT-2200 Transaxles. While this part was an exact replacement for my unit and it was very well shipped, I'm not happy with the QC of this product. There are two very smooth machined surfaces on this part that need to be perfectly smooth and flat. This part along with the one for the other side of my mower arrived with damage. Not due to shipping, but due to poor manufacturing QC. For the price of these units I expect QUALITY. Luckily I was able to mend this quality issues before installing these.These come with 3 new bolts for installation and they also come with a new bypass plate (the tiny piece that controls the bypass).
