These Headphones are great.
I'm a cheapo so to me any headphones over $20 is expensive. Well I had a pair of $10 dollar over ear Coby headphones that I thought did the job just fine. Well those headphones got old and the material that goes on your ear's began to crack like a leather interior car that's been in Texas heat. I decided it was time to get some new headphones. Since my Birthday was Jan 18th I thought why not treat myself to an expensive Headphone purchase. I researched Beats and Souls and saw a video comparing the 2 and the guy in the video mentioned BoomPhones. Sounded interesting to me. I went and found his video review of them and thought what an ingenious idea!! I was sold! The price is better than Beats or Soul headphones. not being an audiophile they sound great to me. No complaints there. They look similar to Beats which mean they look good. I like the Boomphones logo and it's cool that they have the words Boomphones in tiny print around the part that goes over your ears. They have an LED ring around the Logo on each side that is white in Amplified Mode, red and Boom mode and Blue when charging. I also like the inner of the cups. it has the Boomphones Emblem on a red background. Looks good. They feel very comfortable. The cups cover my ears really nicely and no sound leaks out (tested when showing them to my coworkers). I don't sweat in these and they don't feel uncomfortable after extended use. They are a little weighty but that doesn't bother me. They feel well made and the construction is solid. You can bend the part that goes over your head all the way back. Crazy! I don't think the usual part that breaks on all headphones will have a problem (where the ear pieces swivel on the overhead piece). There are 3 modes for these headphones. With the switch to off you are in Regular mode, which I found by accident, allowing you to listen like standard headphones. In that mode the LEDs are off. The second is Amplified Mode which with the switch to on. That mode boost the sound louder and the LEDs turn white. The last is Boom mode which allows you to share your music with everyone. I'm no audiophile but IMO all modes sounds clear and great. I'm gladthere is a standard mode because I can be more inconspicuous at work without showing the LED lights. These headphones come in a nice black case with red trim. In it are the standard dual male 3.5mm audio cord and another with an in line mic. It also has 2 decals of the BoomPhones logo. One is black and the other is white. I just read on the BoomPhones site that the case can be used to Amplify the Boom Mode even more. The site says to put the headphones in the case in Boom mode and then zip it some but not all of the way. Enjoy!I'm so glad I decided to go ahead and buy these. These are the best headphones I've ever owned. (I know I'm cheap!) ;)One thing I wish it had was built in bluetooth. I plan on finding the smallest bluetooth adapter I can to plug into these which I forgot to mention the headphone plug can be taken out which i guess goes without saying since I said it comes with the dual male audio cable.Buy these!

Poor quality for price
Going to start this off by saying that I'm no music editor or work in a studio or something but rather just an audiophile. I've been a huge fan of good sounding speakers, I own a pair of Harman Kardon Sound Sticks III and some Bang and Olsen speakers. I'm very particular with the sound quality that I hear.To start things off I've had my fair share of headphones/ear phones. I of course had the cheap phone ear buds that were extremely painful in your ears and gradually moved up to skull candies, JVC, monsters (not beats), Sennheiser, and Audio-Technica.Now enough about me, let's move onto the review of the boomphones.Inner speakers:Lows 4/5 The lows in this headphone is phenomenal I think this is a high point in this. I even had to turn down my equalizer on my music because it was way too bassesy(Is that a word O_o?)! You pretty much have a MINI subwoofer in the ear cups it seems! The headphones literally makes you feel like you are at a concert with that much punch! There is definitely no need to pump up the EQ on these headphones or your teeth might shake off!Mids 3/5 I listen to a wide range of music and these headphones are amazing for music such as electronic/R&B/Pop/etc however when you get into the music with heavy emphasis on vocal it is not as clear as they would be. I own a pair of ATH 50s and you literally hear everything, I MEAN EVERYTHING.Highs 2/5 I feel as though they forgot the highs. No matter how much I tweak my EQ is just can't get the crisp highs in some music. To me, that is a huge let down that they overpowered in lows/mids but left out highs. To me, a good balance is with all at a good balance.Clarity 2/5 These headphones are just honestly not clear to me, the audio comes too bass heavy no matter how much I tweak the EQ.Outer speakers (boombox mode):Lows: 0/5 All I can say is where is it? You literally have no lows on the outer speaker which is a huge let down when the inner speakers are just bass heavy.Mids 3/5 The outer speakers are ok on mids but they almost sound like a cell phone speaker to be honest.Highs 4/5 Well I feel as though the outer speakers are literally a tweeter because that is exactly what they sound like to me. The highs are well high, I wish they could add this to the inside speakers but that isn't possible :(Clarity 3/5 While the outer speakers do not have any bass they seem a bit more clear on the sound than the interior ones.Comfort 5/5: These ear phones I must admit is quite comfortable I like how soft the material is and you can really wear this for hours and hours! My only complaint is that it's a bit tight.Value: 3/5 To be honest I'm extremely disappointed with this product. I had very high expectations on these headphones when it is priced at $150. The quality of the music is just not amazing, I honestly feel like I wasted my money on this and if Amazon didn't let me return them then I would just hate these headphones. I have to say that these headphones should not be added to your headphone stable unless you really want to go with just bass. Conclusion: I myself wouldn't get these because of the lack of highs resulting in mediocre clarity. For those of you who enjoy the bass but don't want the extremely priced of dr. (you know who) then I would defiantly recommend these. However, for audiophiles this is definitely a no. The headphones look good and feel good but do not sound good I've gotten complements on how cool they look with the led light but other than that that seems to be the only plus.Oh and the "amp" mode is not that amazing the changes are there but nothing to write home about. There is a lack of sound isolation from these headphones which is quite disappointing.
