Just bought a second one. The first one lasted maybe 5 months. I only bought the second because I was unsure what the cause of the false high temp reading. Put the new one in and read correctly again. Pretty disappointed that this item corroded that quickly. Must be a pretty low grade of stainless steel. Pool chemistry is tested and corrected weekly.

Easy to install. I replaced the control board. Got error code e01. Replaced the thermistor (open temp resistor) as someone recommended. The top one is the inlet water temp resistor to replace. Took me less than 20 min. to finish. The heater is running again.
