Great story for elementary school or teacher!
Nice story, interactive CD of music to play along in between reading the story. Great for pre-school, kindergarten, 1st grade and beyond. A must for any elementary school or teacher.

Lovely!
Stone Soup is a Thanksgiving favorite here and having Pete Steeger read and sing is amazing. The focus on the children making the difference is a great connection with my childcare kids!

Beautiful message, great illustrations
Beautiful message, great illustrations, and if you can get the CD with it, Pete Seeger is unparalleled with singing the song while playing his ukulele.

Stone Soup
This is a lovely, preschool friendly version of the fable. The CD with Pete Seeger's voice reading and singing was requested daily by my preschoolers.

our favorite book this year
my four year old and two year old LOVE this book. we've read other versions and they didn't have the same impact as this one. it has led to playing stone soup with our pretend vegetables and fun sing alongs in the car.

preK, K level version
This is a beautifully illustrated version of Stone Soup. It has the same type of lush artwork and vibrant depictions of people that are in "Abiyoyo", a book by the same author and illustrator. This Stone Soup story is not as detailed as some other versions and so is suitable for a younger audience (K, preK).In my sped class of 1st and 2nd grade level readers, we read and compared the Margaret Brown and Jon Muth versions. This Pete Seegar version was not as useful for this task, but my students enjoyed the book. There is not as much emphasis on the moral lessons (sharing, honesty, working together)and there is less emphasis on the details - the party at the end, where the food was hidden, best beds, etc.
