This has to be Micky Rooneys bestI thought it would be a so so movieHow wrong i wasRooney is excellent as the fallen wrestler trying to redeem himself and to re-establish his relationship with his daughter........just a really good watch with a good dose of irony and sadness

Very interesting, vintage curio for hardcore Wrestling fans. Die-hards will certainly relish watching mid '70s footage of a very young Ric Flair, Dick The Bruiser, "Superstar" Billy Graham, Dick Murdoch, Dusty Rhodes and, of course, the man behind the whole project, Verne Gagne (among others). The story is simple but flows well thanks to yet another great interpretation by Ed "Lou Grant" Asner, production values are slightly on the cheap side but that doesn't detract from the experience. Needless to say, look elsewhere if Pro Wrestling ain't your cup of tea, especially as this is clearly a VHS-to-DVD transfer, very cheaply executed, to boot.

Oh, what a disappointment. I have waited roughly 25 years to see this film, and I couldn't watch it to the end.The picture quality of this DVD is absolutely appalling. As if an old video tape recorded in a substandard NTSC has been copied onto a disc without any remastering whatsoever.This is such a shame, as this film gives a very good retrospective of Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association, and featuring appearances by the biggest stars of the professional wrestling scene at that time. The established actor Ed Asner plays a promoter, and does his best to emphasise Gagne's - rammed down the throat - message of the legitimacy of Pro Wrestling.Again though, due to the awful picture, coupled with a raw sound quality, I could only endure 45 minutes.

If you like watching good movies don't buy this one. The only reason I bought it was that I knew a member of the cast and so for me it was excellent.
