Discovery Girls Print Magazine

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter. I was nervous about getting the right type of magazine for her. I was not interested in giving her a magazine full of ads, inappropriately discussing topics of a mature nature, or being boy or make-up crazy, like most magazines I looked into seem to do.I ordered this one based on reviews and I am glad I did. My daughter loves it. It touches on topics like "how to be a friend", "what to do when confronted by a bully" and etc. It is very age-appropriate, didn't seem overwhelmed by ads, and had a healthy and happy undertones throughout. Our only complaint is that they only come every other month... that is a loooooooong time for a child to wait for the next issue of a magazine.We would highly recommend this magazine/

The perfect give for a "tweeen" age girl. Its Grandma approved. I deals with "stuff" every girl this age has and suggests really good advice on topics like jealousy, best friend fight, what to wear that is age appropriate. Being from the midwest and a Christian, I find this magazine to be conservative, not religion dependant (or adverse) but is Just Right for the "Tween".

My nine-year-old granddaughter loves this magazine. It's full of "cool articles and stories," so she has declared me the best Grandma in the world. Who would have thought that a simple gift of reading would inspire such adoration? Especially as this is one of the least expensive material gifts I've given her. I suspect having magazines arrive via mail with her name on them is a novel experience for this 21st century tech savvy child. I appreciate that it can help her develop a heathy sense of self as well as greater understanding of other people and the world she lives in. I purchased three magazine subscriptions, and she loves them all. So glad I thought of this. I highly recommend!

My 10 year old daughter loves this magazine!! I remember how exciting it was to get a monthly magazine just for me in the mail every month so I gifted the subscription for my daughter. Each month she has something fun and informative to read that also helps her to see how much she has in common with her peers. She loves the stories written by girls her age - they share their embarrassing moments, offer tips and fun quizzes. When it came time to renew I asked her if she wanted to continue getting this magazine or select another and she said she wants to keep getting this one. Totally worth it!  Discovery Girls

I will be cautious when ordering magazine through Amazon. The 1st time I ordered magazine from Amazon, the vendor did not send my magazine. I have to contact the vendor for delivery follow-up. The vendor kept missing issues. At the end, when I decided to cancel the subscription, the vendor asked me to interface with Amazon for subscription cancellation. The whole process was time consuming and required quite some attention.That's couple of years ago. I took a chance to order the Discovery Girl magazine from the Gold Box sales event on January, 2012. I never received the magazine. Amazon passed me the contact information and I have to follow up with the vendor by myself. After several months request-answer email communications with the vendor....I still didn't receive the magazine. So, I told the vendor that I want to cancel my subscription. The vendor informed me that they could not handle cancellation and asked me to come back to Amazon to initiate the cancellation process. There is no post-sale service from Amazon on this purchase. I am dis-appointed.

Great magazine for the "tween" ages. Gives girls good advice about things going on at school and things with girls their age. My daughter said there were a few articles that weren't interesting to her (cell phones for example) but that is because she doesn't have one so it would be appropriate for other kids to read. Gave it 4 stars based on my daughter's opinion.

I am extremely happy with this magazine. It was much faster in delivery than indicated and it has wonderful valuable information that is healthy for young girls to read. My daughter is a mature 9 years old girl and I feel she is bombarded by media. This magazine brings body image, relationships with single parents, etc...all issues to the table in a healthy manner with opinions of other girls in similar situations giving healthy advice that worked for them. I am very interactive with my daughter and she loves this magazine. There are great room decorating ideas and fashion ideas that aren't too mature or expensive. Creative ideas and thoughts that are healthy. One was starting a business. My daughter learned all the different aspects to starting a business as a result and she is excited about the process. Purchased 1 year subscription (total 6 issues), and last issue we have received was on April. Now it's been 3 month since the last magazine delivery but I keep receiving "renewal form" from them.Now trying to resolve this "issue" with Amazon and tried to contact to discovery girls magazine.Magazine itself is just ok. A little conservative but gives my almost 10 year old a good laugh. Would be better and will pay more if there are more contents to teach girls "how to do this hair style" or "how to make this oriental dish" kinda "how to" booklet or special contents that can practice with friends.
