Teknor ApexNeverKink 8615-75, Heavy Duty Garden Hose, 5/8-Inch by 75-Feet

So many hoses advertise themselves as "no kinks," "It will never kink," "kink resistant," and my personal favorite from a local garden supply store, "never kinks -- unless you like it that way!"Ever since I was a little child, kinks in the lawn hose have been the bane of my existence. With parents who loved yardwork,I was hands-in-dirt most of my life. Early this spring, I decided to test 5 brands of "won't kink" hoses to see which actually worked well. This was the only brand to pass all five of my less-than-scientific study.The test:1) The hose must EASILY be placed into a nice circle when finished, and come up again without kinking. (YES!)2) While unraveling the hose, I need to be able to walk in any direction in my hard, with various items in the way (a table, arbor, trees, pots, plants, etc), without kinking up on those, like so many hoses before had. (YES!)3) The hose had to endure the spring and summer here in Utah without cracking and rotting. (YES) While I've only tested this for one such season, I am well impressed because of how well it held up compared to the others, and ones I've had in the past.4) I need to be able to touch the hose, after it's been sitting in the hot sun all day, without receiving 3rd degree burns on my hand. (YES!)5) The hose had to cost less than $50; I simply refuse to pay more than that for a hose. (YES!)Again, the NeverKink was the only 75-ft hose to pass all five of the tests this year. I am really excited to see how it does next year. I plan to purchase at least four more in the springtime.

Hose kinked all the time. It was very heavy. Coupling eroded and I had to buy a new hose.

We purchased this same garden hose before. It seems to be easy to maneuver and doesn’t kink.

I did massive amounts of research trying to find just the right hose. We not only water fruits and vegetables with it, but it's also used to fill the water bowls of our small menagerie including chickens (whose eggs we eat). It was important that I get a high quality hose and one that didn't say on it that it wasn't approved for drinking water. All of the other hoses I selected to compare stated in their description that it wasn't drinking water safe. This one did not. I looked all over the description to make sure. Once received, I read on the bottom of the package that it IS NOT approved for drinking water. So, this one goes in the front yard and I'm on the search again.Other than that (very important factor to my purchase), the hose appears to be very nice. I've only used it for one day so I don't know how it's going to hold up. If anything goes awry, I will update my post. But it seems like a very nice hose.

I have been using these hoses for years and they are incredibly sturdy. I’ll never use anything else again. They are much heavier than most hoses but that’s to be expected if you want it to be sturdy and take a beating.

It may never kink, but like all hoses it does get a lot of knots in it. It is really heavy to drag around the lawn when watering.

I bought and returned another extremely expensive supposedly lightweight no kink hose.This hose is pretty lightweight. Hasn't kinked. There is a chemical odor that comes off of it, but it'll either go away or kill us all eventually. We are using it with hot water. Definitely recommend this hose. Will be interesting to see how it performs in the winter.
