fixed my problems, hard to string
UPDATE: This bridge came with very shallow slots that were more markers for where to file then actual slots in the saddles. I installed the way it was and I'm getting a zinging sound in the E and B strings, even when played open. I went back to the solid wraparound bridge that came with the guitar and continued to use the tonepros locking studs. This works well, it may be me, but I think the avt2 bridge sounds a little better than the original. So now I need to buy some files which run from 60 to 120 dollars and cut the slots. Just notice to anyone buying this bridge, you'll probably have to file slots. The original gibson wraparound bridge fit loosely in the fixed studs and therefore leaned forward a lot. the bridge actually wore notches in the studs due to how bad it leaned. Also, couldn't set the intonation adequately the way it was. The locking studs and individual saddles with this AVT2G bridge fix both problems, no leaning and good intonation! Also, because the studs lockdown on the bridge, it is a tight solid fit and it seems like I have a much better transfer now; sounds livelier. the guitar resonates a lot better than before. The the individual saddles for each string intonated well. Down side is: 1) the bridge is taller than the original and must sit lower in order to get the right action. 2) It is HARD to get the string to push through the hole and out the other side; I had to put a bend in each string and wiggle around until the string found the hole on the back side; there's no tunnel like my original solid bridge; HOW ANNOYING! Need a tunnel from front hole to back hole. It's real tricky. Takes getting used to. I might have shopped for another option had I known about this; like the pigtail for about the same price. Also nice is that the bridge stays locked in place when all of the strings are removed; doesn't fall off. Why does gibson make a stud for their bridge that has a significant gap between the stud and the bridge claw? I could have just bought the tonepros locking studs and used the old bridge but I wanted the individual saddles.
