Really impressed
Very good piece of kit. Really impressed with the notifications and email if it goes down/back up say when there's an outage in your Internet connection

Easy to use with or without the app, solid 1GB POE switch with wall mount bracket
Cisco GB POE SwitchI’m building a network video distribution system at the moment so this is the perfect time for this to arrive, it will be the hub of my system. The Cisco Meraki Go equipment works with a smart app called Meraki Go, this is a fairly easy to use app that monitors any Meraki equipment, lets you make system changes and it informs you of any issues with it during operation. Currently I have the POE switch and wifi access point, I will add more products as the system grows.NDI is a video network system used by tv broadcaster, online studios and other users of high quality video to be distributed over local & remote networks. NDI was primarily designed as a high quality point-t0-any video system, sending video from source to anyone connected to the network, with near zero latency & broadcast quality. All of that data needs to be shunted around over a good quality gigabit network, none of your 100mb rubbish here, the full gb is required, her is where the Cisco Meraki switch comes in. All 8 ports are full 1GB per port with POE delivering up to 67 watts in total, and the 2 SFP Ports (ports 9 and 10) are for linking to a 10 GB backbone giving maximum data throughput at 20GBsI have tested it using 3 NDI sources from camera/laptops to laptop running vMix software and all is great, no packet losses, all smooth frame rates. The box itself is quite slimline, barely the height of 2 ports, the box is metal and feels like it will handle life on the road with me. It has two slide out mounting brackets underneath, very useful for wall mounting, or in my case, for morning inside a flight case. I’m not delighted with the dc power socket, it looks easily breakable, I would have preferred a locking type. The power supply block it comes with is huge, it delivers 54 volts at 1.67A

Solid professional switch
This is a smart, mature switch with a good build quality and a good software suite that feels genuinely (or at least potentially) useful, instead of just getting in the way like others do.The hardware is smart and professional. The metal case (cheaper ones are plastic) is not too weighty and ventilation on either side should dissipate any heat generated. The design is endearingly minimal and no-fuss and the rack mounting arms underneath are a smart bit of thinking.Data performance is exactly what you’d expect from a 1Gb switch, with two local SSD-powered devices able to talk to each other at insane speeds that would’ve sounded like science-fiction if you’d told me about them back in the dial-up days. I don’t have enough PoE devices to put eight ports through their paces but the results I was able to get for power were all good. The mobile app doesn’t require you to be an IT expert to fathom it out, and while you do need to have at least a bit of a clue how networks work in order to get what you want out of it, the clear simple design of the app strikes a good balance between icon-driven minimalism and actual usefulness. And of course, if you’re busy when it arrives, you don’t need to open the app at all to get going with it- but if you’re really not worried about security, then of course you could save money and buy a cheaper, less complex but still high-quality Cisco switch instead. For a small business, or dedicated work-from-home which will be increasingly popular I’m sure, this is a really solid investment and a very sturdy and likeable bit of kit.

Big name POE switch but limited by the amount of power it can deliver
So the plus side of this switch is the overall quality of hardware and the associated software to manage the switch.Configuring and setup is easy plus the dedicated uplink ports are a bonus and leaves 8 ports free for devices to be connected.Where the switch falls short is being limited to 67 watts of of power. Given that a POE port can demand 15 watts potentially you could hit the maximum with just 4 ports in use.Given the price of this switch I would have expected it to be able to power all 8 ports simultaneously.

Quality
Exceptionally built, and is an excellent switchMy only criticism is the price, you can pick up an 8 port switch elsewhere for half this price

High quality device
The main attraction of this Cisco switch is that its configuration and management is using the Meraki app. So you just need a smartphone. The idea behind this device is that you don’t need a network engineer to setup a network in a workplace. If you are a small business, getting this switch will help you set up the workplace network to run multiple workstations for the staff without much fuss. All the setup and management can be done using your smartphone. The switch has- 8 RJ ports that support POE and POE+- 2 SFG ports for uplink- Download the Meraki Go app, Scan QR code behind the device, then the app will show instructions to setup the device. In the app- Can check the status of the switch in the app- Manage the ports, Set Link speed and VLAN configs- Monitor web activities- Block clients- Monitor usage and manage speed- Add/delete admins- TroubleshootingThe quality of Cisco devices are extremely high. I have used Cisco switches and they are durable. Basically, you can get industrial-grade switches for home or small office use. Cheap price compared to what you get. Recommended!Things I didn’t like:- I am used to the web interface. Managing the switch through the phone is alien to me.- I struggled in setting up a firewall through the app
