Marks 22AC RHR Satin Chrome Double Cylinder Iron Gate Ornamental Mortise Lock Set with 2-1/2" Backset

Worked perfectly with a few modifications for my Metal Vent wrought iron security door. Metal Vent was a security door company in Memphis, TN until the 1990s. I still remember the "may-tal vee-yant" commercials. The mortise lock set was old and worn but finding a suitable replacement took hours of searching until Amazon recommended this listing (good job AI?). My old lock had a threaded rod that connected the knobs through a single hole. I had to drill two more 3/16ths holes above and below the spindle hole on both sides of the door to accommodate the knob mount for this lock. I also used 2 machine screws, not included, to mount the lock to the door. Flat head phillips #10-24x3/4. Clean the door threads with a pipe cleaner before installing, there was years of gunk on mine. The lock set only includes wood screws, not suitable for steel mounting. The latch and deadbolt lined up perfectly with the existing frame. I really didn't want to have to get rid of these beautiful antique wrought iron doors that were made down the street from me 50 years ago. I usually don't leave reviews, I just wanted to help out a fellow Memphian looking for a replacement lock.

Manufacturer is not helpful at all. Parts missing, they don't care. Too bad!
