Stay Salt

I usually don't read a lot of Christian books. I like to spend more time reading the Bible and studying it. But, after reading an article (which was an excerpt from this book) entitled "Talking Sin to a Culture That Doesn't Believe in It", I immediately ordered Stay Salt. I can not recommend this book highly enough! It is a solid explanation of the timelessness of the Gospel, and how we, as believers, can confidently carry that message to a world that so desperately needs to hear it. This is not a "do this and this, and then say that" type of book. The approach is strongly rooted in relationship with others first, thoroughly dependent on the Holy Spirit, and is grounded in scripture.So, is this book for you? I listened to this book after seeing the author, Becky Pippert, on the Eric Metaxis show. Tuesday, July 28,2020 had been such a discouraging day. I could not watch the assaults on Attorney General Barr for very long. It was mind boggling that members of the House of Representatives would behave(as they have for the last few years) in a manner I have not seen since preschool.I don't watch Eric Metaxis all of the time...but somehow...perhaps divinely inspired...I turned on his show that night. I didn't think I knew the guest, and I really don't know her, in a real sense, but she is as old as I am so I read her first"Out of the Saltshaker" book. It is the way my family lived their life...as witnesses for our Lord, Jesus Christ.I loved listening to it and have already sent it to two people. Get it, now....it is an encouraging!

I have been a Christian for over six decades but I have often been afraid to invite others to experience Jesus as I do. Reading this book helped me understand why I had that fear and how crucial it is for me to overcome it,I read the book and then invited a friend from my church to study it with me. We discovered many ways that we could be an evangelist that we had not considered before.It is a book I will read again and will share with others. Thank you, Rebecca Pippert!

I have been a Christian all of my life. I grew up in the church and had wonderful Christian parents. Sharing the gospel with others has always been challenging for me because I felt that I was not equipped to answer the difficult questions about the Bible . . . About God. The abstract of this book spoke directly to that fear and caused me to read Staying Salt. It includes practical guidance for sharing the gospel . . . No formula . . . No step-by-step instructions but simple principles that allow us Christians to be authentic, joyful, and empowered to share with others. The resources that are referenced in this book will be my next readings.

The author gave real life examples of sharing the Gospel in everyday situations. She gave those of us that fear sharing the Gospel great hope that we can be successful eventhough we dont have formal theological training. I will be going over this book again and again. Many thanks to the author and I'm glad I watched her interview on Eric Metaxas Show! Would make a great Christmas gifts for other believers!

Very readable, relevant and practical. Also quite culturally transferable. Her writing style is delightful and her personal practical illustrations helpful. Highly recommended.

I liked the practicality of the content, it also was inspiring toAction and, it made it seem possible to evangelize, peppered with Grace, wisdom and love. Worth my time!!!

Loved the author's fresh and practical insight on using the basic art of conversation for modern evangelism. Very relatable & inspiring.

Easy to read with applicable interesting stories, challenging on our call to actively share Jesus with others, encouraging as it reminds us again and again that God is with us - his love, his truth, his Spirit. Helpful questions at the end of each chapter to help apply the principles.
