UPDATE: I called the company because the dummies come with a 1-yr warranty. Their customer service was excellent. They said its unacceptable and unusual for their dummies to come apart that quickly. They sent two replacement dummies even though only 1 of the two I ordered here had ripped. In the future, I'd be more inclined to order directly from the company.Original review: The dummy arrived on Dec 29 and the seam split on Jan 7. We have a bird hunting dog, so we use the 2 dummies we purchased on a daily basis for training. We toss, he retrieves, and barring his learning curve of how to carry it properly, he never plays with it or chews on it. (He's 3 now, so he knows how to carry it properly with the occasional playful toss in the air when his puppyness bubbles up. He's quickly corrected and does it right.) He carries it to us, drops on command (never any tugging), and never has access to it unless he's training. Other dummies we've had from this company have lasted for years with that type of use. I've stitched it with high quality thread, but 10 days of use as it was intended before needing a repair is not acceptable.

This is a very good dummy for teaching retrieving. The material is strong but not bullet proof. Very good product. I’m ordering two more in orange for site training.

…so at this point I can’t be sure. BUT have you ever received a new item and immediately felt either very pleased or very disappointed the moment you held the item in your hand? With this I was pleased. It may not be the most durable but it is well made and it has a good feel and heft to it. If you keep in mind that this is NOT a chew toy, and use it as designed, then it will likely last long enough to give justify an extremely high price/durability ratio. My previous Golden liked to carry a dummy on walks. This will hopefully serve my new Golden in the same capacity.

Good size for most sizes of dogs and weights enough to throw well and have held up well so far even when my puppy desides not to be a good boy and chomps instead of retrieving.

It works well and holds up well the dog like it! I am try to train the dog to hunt pheasant and I used this along with pheasant sent and a wing from a pheasant.

Always watch your pup with this toy the metal ring came off and I am concerned that he swallowed it… would love to know if it does indeed have 2 pieces. It was his favorite toy but it lasted pretty much a month.

I bought two of these bumpers for my new Lab puppy to play with her in the front yard. The value and durability of these bumpers/dummies is second to none, all while being the perfect size for a new 6-12 week old puppy who still has small milk teeth and may have a sensitive mouth to harder more rigid objects.

Only have been using it for 30 minutes with my dog and the top is almost torn off. And the sand inside comes out.

Can be used on land or in water a great fetch toy

Springer loves it (for puppy). Good weight for throwing and durable material for his razor puppy teeth.

This training dummy has a nice mass for throwing and retrieving and seems well built. I have used them for training adult retrievers and they last quite well. I got two other dummies from an internationally known outdoor store but they didn’t last long. This one is better.

It’s a good quality canvas bumper. But it’s not a jumbo sized bumper. Great for puppies and teaching to hold when retrieving
