Great Read
it brought a lot of clarity to understand and appreciate one of the greatest Last Stands in military history. It also helps to understand the impact it created in shaping the history in the following years.

Excellent Account of Neglected History
Became aware of this battle from watching the drama series of Saragarhi on Netflix and wanted to know more of the true history of the battle. This book sets out the background and sequence of events in a very clear and fascinating way, revealing the story of the epic courage of the Sikh soldiers at Saragarhi and elsewhere on the North-West Frontier. Four rather than 5 stars as the book could have been longer considering the wealth of source material and left a few details frustratingly unclear, such as the uniform colour worn at Saragarhi (probably khaki but the book only references the red worn when the regiment was first raised). And within a short book the author felt like he was padding on occasion with unnecessary prose. But overall a superb book of a story that should be more widely known. Do buy if you want to know more of this amazing last stand.

A wonderful book of fiction could be made from this remarkable story
This is an event that should rank alongside Thermopile or Rorkes Drift. I wanted to know more about the individuals and their lives. The story deserves more

Everyone should read this. A most inspiring story and a lesson of the futility of the Afghan war

A good short read.
A beautiful initiative by the author to make the present generations privy to the heroics of Indians in foreign lands. I would have much liked more photos to support the text, albeit a very good effort by Mr Jay Singh Sohal.
