Nick Saban vs. College Football: The Case for College Football's Greatest Coach

A really good book with lots of facts, stories and behind the scenes tell all. A good read and well worth it for the football fan.

The approach taken in this book is interesting and I learned a lot about other coaches and their past success in addition to a few tidbits about Saban that I had not read in many other books about him. The author does a good job of making the case for the greatest run we have seen or may ever see in the history of college football. An easy and enjoyable read for Alabama fans and for college football fans.

Disclaimer: I AM AN ALABAMA FAN.That said - I am not one of "those" Alabama fans. I do not bash our rivals or wish ill on any of the opposing athletes. I love football - period. I particularly love the ground and pound football played in the SEC. I love low scoring, defense dominated games that leave me exhausted just from the watching. I am quick to credit any team which plays with skill and determination for the full 60 minutes of regulation play and even more so if called into overtime. Even if that team is Auburn. :)I read this book thinking I would just confirm what I suspected - that Nick Saban is one of the greatest coaches of all time. And I was not disappointed. I had no idea the statistics which back up the assumption. Holy cow! I'm glad he's on our side. Roll Tide Mr. Saban. We are lucky to have you.If you are interested in the numbers, this is a great book for you. The author (NOT an Alabama fan) makes a solid case for Saban's inclusion on the Mt. Rushmore of College Football. And he does an incredibly thorough job in proving it to his readers. He compares and contrasts Nick Saban with every well known coach and innovator in the sport and with quite a few not-so-well-known too! Even better, he manages to present large amounts of stats and facts without overwhelming or boring his audience to death.

I ordered a copy for myself and an extra one for a Christmas present to give to another BAMA grad. Great coach and he will end up as one, if not the greatest coach of college football ever. Fantastic recruiter and motivator of young players; he realizes how important defense and special teams are to winning championships. Like another BAMA coach, Paul Bear Bryant, his legend will be part of the lore and pride of football at the University of Alabama forever. I recommend this book for all BAMA fans and others interested in college football and this complex and driven man who produces consistent championship football teams. Roll Tide!

Had some good information in it. Have been a fan of Nick Saban for a while I’m not a Alabama fan but what he’s built is amazing.

Not as interesting as I thought it would be. I thought it would be more about the process of Saban rebuilding Alabama. It just retells the basic faxts.

Love him or hate him, Nick Saban is a great coach and a good man. I am not the biggest football fan but I do follow Alabama football. The book touches on his strategy for winning, coaching and mentoring his football players. His team has a good graduation rate and of course, some players are fortunate enough to play for the NFL.
