With WA7tp (tube power supply) upgrade. The Woo Audio WA7 "Fireflies" (2nd Gen) Amp/DAC is a combination of high performance vacuum tube headphone amplifier with a built-in USB Digital-to-Analog Converter. It is a pure tube design, utilizing 6C45 tubes in a class-A, single-ended topology, with transformer coupled outputs. There are no semiconductors used in the entire signal path. The D/A converter is designed to be capable of up to 24-bit/384kHz sampling rates. This maintains pure data integrity, which is transmitted via standard high speed USB 2.0 interface operating in asynchronous mode. The high quality construction features include a pair of Nickel Alloy core output transformers, all-aluminum chassis with no screws visible from any viewing angles, an external linear external power supply for amplification circuitries, a custom built toroidal power transformer, and multi-layer military grade PCBs. The dedicated port for in-ear monitors carries a full range of volume controls ensuring minimal noise. Despite its incredibly compact size, "Fireflies" is a power-house outputting up to 1w of power to drive almost any demanding audiophile headphones. To accommodate different system setup needs, "Fireflies" can also be used as a stand-alone D/A Converter.

Work of Art
Absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship and audio quality you get from this amp/dac is wonderful. The internals are housed in an aluminum shell with a brushed texture. The tubes are protected by a heavy glass cover with holes at the top for heat ventilation. The volume knob turns smooth as butter but with the perfect amount of resistance. The weight of these guys are incredible as well. It feels as if they're filled with pure lead. If your butter fingers manages to drop one of these bad boys, you're sure to leave a crater in your floor. (Dont test it) The weight of these make these super stable too so you could plug in and plug out your headphones without having to hold onto the amp because it wont move. Now since I never tried the "amp by itself" version I'm not sure if the "tube psu version" is worth the extra money but it certainly looks very pretty. I also had an issue with one of the tubes but Mike of Woo Audio was kind enough to help me and answer all of my questions.
