great book!
Capture, book 1 of Seaside Pictures series written by Rachel Van Dyken. I love all of the books that I have read that were written by Ms Van Dyken. It’s great to be back in Seaside and get to meet some new friends along with the old ones. It’s a great book!

That numb feeling you get when your heart breaks...
Capture by Rachel Van DykenPurchased: Kindle - $1.99My Rating: 4 of 5 StarsWhat's it all about:Dani isn’t your normal teenager. She has been through things that someone that young just shouldn’t go through, and it has effected her life drastically. Fast forward to present time, and the mute Dani seventeen year old seems content with hiding away with her life. That is until her brother-in-law forces her to interact with the outside work. Cue in Lincoln Greene. Dani hasn’t felt something this real in a long time, and who knows if it will even last, only time will tell. The Best Parts:Everything about this book was basically perfect. I loved the characters even though I haven’t read them from the other books Rachel has written, but make me now want to read! The plot line was great as well. It gave so much hope for that true love that everyone looks for. I especially loves the writing style of going back and forth between Linc and Dani’s POV. It helps with what is actually going on in their heads at that particular moment. I also loved the family mentality throughout the book. For a girl who has almost no family, she seems to have all of the family in the world. This book is amazing, and I cried on the inside, so many times. I cried on the inside because I couldn’t cry on the outside. There were a few parts that hit my soul a little too hard and I just felt numb. The is one portion with her father that if you have or haven’t read it you will understand. Being a daddies girl and losing my father at 17, this story really hit home. I felt my heart break over and over again with the feeling of I know exactly what Dani is going through and all of the self destructive thoughts going through her head. This novel also reminds me of my husband and I. My husband brought me out of my dark destructive self and helped me learn to love and trust again. This was something that I have been needing for a long time. A book that told me I wasn’t alone. That I’m not crazy. So yea maybe I have a little bias when writing this review, but when ever you read a book you always bring your personal experiences to it, and mine helped me love this book all the more. The Worst Parts:There was only one part that bothered me, and why it made me give 4 of 5 starts, and that was the end. I felt like it was so rushed. When Dani freaks out at Linc and goes cold again it isn’t something that is shown very much. She just goes and then comes out. Takes maybe five pages. I wish we could have seen her inner battle and seen more of a fight to get her back. I don’t know something, it just felt like it lacked and then all of a sudden it was all happily ever after.Final Thoughts:Buy the book. Buy it now and you won’t regret it. It took me maybe 3 hours to read it. It is totally worth it on so many levels, and just fills your heart with all of the feels. I have read many of Rachel’s books and find her writing amazing, so I may be biased in that department, but let me tell you how amazing this story is! Also, I can’t wait for Zane’s story! :D

what an absolutely beautiful story!
Rachel Van Dyken has done it again! Capture is absolutely amazing! If you've read the Seaside Series then you've met Dani before, but so much has changed since we last saw her at the end of the series. Dani is grieving her parents death, and after another scare she has gone mute. She doesn't talk, she texts to get things across. Jaymeson and Pris are worried about her, and get her a job as Lincolns (the new Hollywood heartthrob) assistant. Dani is definitely attracted to Linc but at the same time he infuriates her more than anyone.Seeing Linc and Dani form a friendship was beautiful. Linc definitely does things to anger Dani and he's pretty stupid a lot of the time with what he does and says, but the connection between them is undeniable. Watching their awkward first meeting turn into an odd friendship and then into something more was a wonderful thing to read. I was so connected to both of these characters and definitely fell in love with their story.I felt everything that these characters were going through, their love, their trauma, their angst, everything! I was definitely captured by their story and fell in love right along with them. This book deals with some heavy things and it was handled beautifully in this book. Something I've learned to come to expect from Rachel Van Dyken. She has a way of telling horrible things in a way that you feel the pain of the characters as if you are right there with them.Linc and Dani's relationship is definitely a bumpy one, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. They really became close, and had many milestone's along the way. Getting to see Alec, Demetri, Pris, Alyssa, and Nat was awesome, especially since they were all involved in one way or another with the movie that Linc was filming. It was also awesome getting to meet Zane. This guy... he is hilarious and an amazing friend to Dani, and I can't wait to read his story, because there is definitely something going on with him. The "family" this group of friends is something out of this world. The guys protect the girls fiercely and will go against their friends to make sure the ones they love are safe. Can you say swoon? Because you definitely will with these guys!Capture is an absolutely beautiful story that I stayed up way too late to finish because I was unable to force myself to put it down! I fell in love with Dani and Linc so hard in this book. There isn't a ton of drama, just an amazing story that you couldn't help but wish for the happily ever after for these two. There is one twist in this book that if you pay attention to the clues you'll figure it out, and even then I was still a little shocked. Even though this book is part of a series, this is a complete stand alone and you will love the way this book ends!If you're an avid reader of Rachel Van Dyken's or not, this book is one that definitely needs to be read. Capture is absolutely amazing and beautifully written! Highly recommended!

Another RVD hit
MY REVIEWOk i will start by saying that i haven't read Rachel Van Dyken's Seaside Series, so wasn't familiar with this cast of characters as they made their reappearance in Capture. But let me tell you i will be reading it now for sure. They are a fantastic bunch of secondary characters and now i have a need to know their stories.Rachel Van Dyken can write sweet, funny, emotion filled stories like no one else, she makes you physically feel the pain, sadness, joy and love and i loved every word of the book, it was a joy to lose myself in its pages for a few hours. This endearing story shows that PTSD is not exclusive to the military, it can happen to anyone who has suffered a traumatic life event such as the one Danni experienced. The way in which all Danni's family and friends treated her and her inability to speak was the typical wrap her up in cotton wool and protect her from the world. But the way in which Linc approached it was to treat her no different from any other person and show her how to reconnect with the world again.Lincoln Greene has it all, he's hot, famous, and has money but that doesnt make him the usual arrogant self centred jerk. He really is a nice guy, hes good at is job and comes across as genuine.I adored how sarcastic and snarky Danni is and the building relationship between her and Linc really ignited that side of her at times making me laugh. The sexual tension was out of this world for Linc and Danni, and i think Linc deserves a medal for holding out as long as he did! This was a brilliant read.

I Want To Live In Seaside
The first book in a new series that you can read without have picked up another book by Rachel, although there's characters from the Seaside books you don't have to have to read them to enjoy this book. I'm not going to give anything away about the book , what I will say is this has everything you want funny, sweet and romantic. Could not put this down till had finished, can't wait to see what comes next from this great author.
