It is a very well designed product with good quality steel, hardware, machining,strength and finish. As an industrial product engineer designer it is reassuring that such high quality still can be achieved.

I use it to hang a bird feeder off my back deck and it makes the stray bird seed fall into the grass instead of making a mess on my deck.It is very sturdy and easy to mount with a basic electric drill.

We bought two of these for our deck to replace a single and longer extendable pole with 2 hooks for bird feeders that the local bear population had destroyed. Since the original pole we’d had is no longer being sold, we’d searched for a long time before finding this product, and while we’d preferred the original pole with 2 hooks, this product is the best substitute/replacement we had been able to find, and it will work out well for hanging plants or bird feeders on our deck. It hangs things high enough for easy viewing of them and is very sturdy—maybe not bear-proof, but not much can withstand a surprise daylight bear raid by 4 mature-sized bears each weighing several hundred pounds. The feeders are taken in at night, and the bears depart from this area sometime in the spring and don’t return until it’s time to hibernate again, but can present an occasional problem in the meantime, since we cannot be sure of exactly when they’ve left for the season or when they’ve returned in the fall.These poles do hang bird feeders high enough and far enough from the deck rail to effectively thwart the raiding squirrel population, however, when used in combination with a Squirrel Buster feeder, topped by a weather guard lid above the feeder. The poles are also great for hanging summer baskets and pots of plants, also. We’d highly recommend these to anyone who wants to hang things from their deck. We’re still hoping to find another longer extending pole having 2 hooks for feeders or plants, but these 2 poles have been a satisfactory alternative for replacing that special one.

Just what I wanted! Sturdy and keeps the squirrels scratching their head’s trying to figure out how to get to it. They have tried and may figure it out but so far so good! Love that it swings so I can fill easily

Works great! Stays in place on fence with included screws. It's long enough that the squirrels can't get to it! I bought another one.

Bird feeder. Pointed it off the porch to keep dropping and seeds from making a mess.

Wow, it’s a nice hanger if you can put it together the right way. They give you two washers to help with aligning it but I had to use 4 to get it perfectly aligned at each end. Nice sturdy and I can wait to use it for my bird feeder.
