Great Cutting Mower
I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for this mower so thought I'd stick my two penn'orth worth in.This was bought to replace my Bosch Rotak 37 Ergoflex - which I might add still works great but now resides at my daughter's house.Firstly, and most importantly, it cuts brilliantly and leaves nice crisp stripes - the lawn in the photo was cut on the lowest setting. The cut height is easily adjustable, although I've only used the lowest 2 settings - strangely the lowest is 'min' the next lowest is '3'.The grass box is a bit hit and miss. It is liable to fall off if not fitted in place firmly and the full indicator is a bit of a gimmick that measures the depth of cuttings at the rear of the box where the grass is naturally thrown. Hence it can read as full when there is still plenty of room at the mower end. It folds flat though which is a bonus storage-wise.Yes, the power lead is quite short, however I've always used an extension so it's not really a problem. I like the fact that the lead can be removed from the mower and stored separately. The mower is reassuringly quite heavy compared with my other Bosch mower. That might be why it leaves such defined stripes although it is quite hefty to put in my car. If you're just wheeling it around then it's not really a problem. It's relatively quiet as well.In summary, I've been really pleased with my purchase. If you have a medium sized garden and you like stripes then I can thoroughly recommend this mower. If you want something to whip out and give your grass a quick once over then this possibly isn't for you...Just an aside - if anyone from Bosch reads this. Why are Bosch products all different shades of green? I have 3 hedge trimmers of various sizes, 2 mowers and a drill and they're all different. It's unusual when compared with brands such as Makita, DeWalt, Ryobi etc whose products all have the same corporate colour... Ah well, no matter.

It cuts well
It cuts well but is a bit cumbersome to move around small areas. The grass collection basket is a bit poor as it’s so small. The indicator for the collection basket is a waste of time. Handles are quite comfortable. Cable a bit short. Easy to adjust cutting height.

Beware of the flap.
I’ve used a petrol rotary mower for 40+years mainly because it was cable free had good manoeuvrability and made nice stripes on the lawn. The down side is that it now costs approx., £100 every other year to have it serviced??? However I recently had a hernia repair and was advised to take things easy. But this strategy doesn’t get the lawn mowed and the grass was growing too long for my mower so one of my sons brought a Bosch electric mower over and watching him use it was a revelation. I subsequently purchased the Bosch Universal Rotak 550. I know it’s very light but it’s just what I needed. It does everything my existing mower does and makes nice stripes on my lawn. One extra bonus is I can now leave the lawn longer between cuts as it has more height settings which helps me as the existing mower always cut the grass too short even on the highest setting. Another is it will cut wet grass. A warning though beware of the position of you hand when removing the grass box as the flap has a strong spring and nearly took my thumb off today.

Flimsy grass box.
I use the mower for a small lawn. I bought it as I had been pleased with the Bosch mower I had previously. It mows well but the cord is too short to use without an extension lead unlike my old mower and the grass box is not well anchored and often falls off when turning the mower at the end of a row. It was easier to assemble, but all in all I feel it is less well engineered than my previous mower.

Good, better reliable alternative to hover mower
I have previously always bought hover mowers, but was getting increasingly annoyed at their short life (max 4 years) and the fact that they failed to hover over bumpy ground, so quite an effort to push. Also the wind current threw grass everywhere on paths etc. So I tried a rotary for a change, and having read up a lot the Bosch Rotaks seemed a good choice. And I have to say I have been very pleased so far - the mower needs much less effort than a hover, the cutting height can be very easily adjusted by a simple button push (cf. flymo need complicated unscrewing), it cut very well and sharp, it is much quieter than the Flymo, the 37 cm width can be easily negotiated around the garden, and a bonus it is made in UK so designed for UK lawns! Only downsides so far are that it is a bit heavier to lft than a hover, it does not cut right to the front, the hoovering not quite as good as a hover, and the latches keeping the collecting bag on at the back have come loose quite a few times. Hence only 4 not 5*, but overall I am very pleased and recommend the product.

Great mower
I like the Bosch brand. This mower is lovely to use, with a choice of buttons to hold. A little heavy to turn. The shortish cable didn’t bother me as I had to use an extension lead with my old mower. Would recommend
