You know every once in a while you'll buy something on a whim and then you'll end up wondering how you ever lived without it every time you use it? This is pretty much that for me. I was looking at this because I wanted a steering wheel cover that would stop my dad from badgering me to drive my car (he's ridiculously reckless). I also heard it had some insulating qualities, and living in Texas, I was like, "hey, that could be cool". No pun intended, naturally. I was also planning a trip through Amarillo and New Mexico at the time, so I figured it'd be the ideal time to try it out. So, I bought it. I will admit that it took me maybe 15 tries to get it on the wheel. But oh, man, it was worth it. My steering wheel felt like a cat's belly fur. I've had this for a few months now, and I will say that it's slightly less soft. It has that slight rough feel that you get when running your hand over fake fur. It's soft, but it also has that slight polyester-like texture. It's still quite nice, but it does wear a little.Over the years I've gotten used to the fact that my steering wheel, if directly touched during the summer, will cause searing pain and possibly death. Hell, it was regularly hitting 100+ (without heat index) a few weeks ago. With this, it might feel a little warm. That's not me saying "a little warm" as a Texan who remarks on how 88 degree weather is a cold front, that's me saying "it's a little warm" as a person with hands that she'd like to not have burned to a crisp. To be more specific, I'd say it's about room-temperature warm. Which means my hands were not only intact, they weren't even sweaty.I was worried this would make handling a bit more difficult, but it didn't do so in the very slightest. Despite being as soft as a newborn puppy's ear, this thing actually has some grip to it. I can slide my hands easily over it, but I do live in a place where I have to make sudden turns and I've yet to have my hands slip. The material itself is very tightly bound to the steering wheel (which is why it's so hard to get on), and I've never had that slip lengthwise around the wheel. I can move it slightly around the handle of the wheel. Part of it can ever move as far as covering the top part of my speedometer. It's easy enough to move back and doesn't do it often, so I haven't found it to be a problem of any significance.Finally, a few other notes: No discoloration yet to speak of. I got it in June, and it's still as black as when I got it. No balding or major shedding yet, either. I didn't ever notice a smell, but I guess it could've had one. Seems easy enough to remove, if I wanted to replace it or get something of a different color, but I haven't had a reason to remove it yet.

This is the second one I have bought in several years. The last one lasted for a long time despite daily use. No cold fingers in winter and no burning hands in summer. Putting one of these covers does take a little bit of thought but it was securely on in about fifteen minutes. I expect good things out of this new one. So far it very soft yet does not affect my control of steering.

This cover was great at first, and I was super impressed with it when it first arrived- super soft, fantastic for icy steering wheels in the winter, and now that it's summer, also good for preventing them from getting painfully hot. Installation was easy enough once I figured out a trick: loop it around the back of the steering wheel first so you get something to pull against to stretch it! I'm glad it wasn't too easy- goes to show that it's tight enough it won't come loose while driving (and it never has).However, it hasn't even been a year yet and it's already falling apart. It's still useable, but the stitches are visibly unraveling in places and it's definitely making my car look shabby rather than luxe. I really wish the product was more durable.

Exactly as described, fuzzy, soft, and stretchy! It was super easy to install which I'm greatful for! I took a star off because it's shedding quite a bit of fuzz and some pieces of fuzz don't come off they are slowly pulling off so they're extra long, I could trim them but I don't usually have scissors while I'm driving lol. Definitely worth the price.

I like this steering wheel cover. I drove my mom around a bit not long after I got it, and I did (as an adult woman) get a little flack from her for how juvenile it looks, but it really does help the temperature of my wheel.My car is 12 years old, and the rubber on my steering wheel was starting to peel and just feel icky in general, especially in the heat. This served my purpose of remedying that, and it is pretty cute. It doesn't slide around at all, and my grip is pretty fantastic.There's been a little shedding here and there, but nowhere near as bad for me as some of the other reviewers seemed to have it.For the price, here, you really can't go wrong.

Sheds a little but after a wash it’s fine

I love this item cause my wheel was always so cold as I have an older car.it is a little complicated to put on the wheel at first but once it is placed on it will not come off.the materials are of good quality and it does protect me from the cold so it was a perfect choice for me.I does lack a bit on the sewing finishings, there is a lot of loose strings and badly closed ends but it has not fallen apart so far so I am happy.

its very god specially if you live in a hot city. the only problem that it drops alot of the extra hair when its new. however that doesnt effect the good quality . I recommend to buy this item 5 stars

Not at all made of sheep skin as stated in description. Fluff falls out and sheds everywhere. Not impressed.
