Christmas to Color: Coloring Book for Adults and Kids to Share: A Christmas Holiday Book for Kids

The media could not be loaded.  This hand-drawn Christmas designs coloring book may be the best designs of the genre that I have ever purchased. The artist is Mary Tanana and, in the first few pages, she explains her methodology for drawing these lovely designs. While I wish that the book had been printed on a single side, I am still extremely pleased with it. The designs cover so many facets of the Christmas holiday, including: trees, stockings, ornaments, gift cards, wreathes, reindeer, snowflakes, and much, much more.The book is printed on a good heavyweight white paper. All of my markers bleed-through on this paper; however, none of my gel pens do. As the book is printed doubled sided on non-perforated paper, I will probably be using my gel pens and colored pencils or will purchase a second book if I feel compelled to use my markers. The binding is glued rather than sewn, so patience or an exacto knife is needed to remove pages from the book.Of the 82 designs that I counted in this book, only four of them span across two pages. I was able to press hard on the binding and get to all parts of the designs. In my copy, the pictures lined up perfectly. All but a very few designs stopped well before the binding. Of the few that merged into it, there was nothing of importance to the design that would be lost if you cut the book apart.I am really thrilled to have found this new artist in coloring books. The designs are so lovely and elegant and really speak Christmas to me. The artwork is so fantastic, I can only hope that Ms. Tanana will be coming out with more adult coloring books in the near future.

Christmas to Color is a high quality coloring book with beautiful, intricate pictures. The snowflakes are especially exquisite. The paper quality is good and has a nice feel to it. The drawings are printed on both sides. The book shows the influence of Johanna Basford (Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest, Lost Ocean) and it almost feels like one of Basford's books. The drawings have thousands of tiny spaces to color, so plan on sharpening your pencils a lot and using reading glasses if you need them. Pictures include lots of gorgeous snowflakes, ornaments, stockings, reindeer, lots of birds, nature and there's even a partridge in a pear tree. I particularly like the page with the Christmas gift tags.Tanana says in her intro that she used images and symbols from celebrations around the world, so I was a little surprised at what was missing. No manger, no shepherds or wise men, not even camels, no host of angels or star over Bethlehem. No piles of gifts around the Christmas tree, no Santa or elves or plates of Christmas cookies. I did find one small gingerbread man and a little mug with candy canes on it. So... gorgeous well-done book. Just don't expect to find many elements of American Christmas celebrations. The book is superb otherwise.Also, kudos to the USPS. The book arrived in perfect condition, but I have not idea why. It was the worst packing job I've ever seen -- one book and a small airbag bumping around inside a box that was much too large. I ordered from Amazon with the free shipping.

This is the nicest book I have owned, and I rather like the fine work, as opposed to what others prefer. The only drawback is that the illustrations are on both sides of the page, which means sacrificing one side if you're going to use the finished page (I am using some of the art for wrapping paper, gift tags, and Christmas cards). I am using gel pens, which work great, but for some of the pages I would like to do more shading, and will used colored pencils. I wonder how this would stand up to watercolor pencils?Anyway, great book, and well worth the price.

My favorite Christmas coloring book by far! Christmas to Color is a book full of beautiful, unique & intricate designs on good quality paper. The pages are double-sided, so alcohol-based markers will bleed through. I love every page, but my least favorite are the ones with script written on them~ I feel the writing can overpower the exquisite art. This book would be awesome in an artist edition with no script! This book inspires me & I'd love to have a second copy so I could use markers & gel pens with abandon! I will be looking for more books by the very talented Mary Tanana.

Although the designs are pretty I was quite disappointed that many of them end with part of them left undone at the edges. Most importantly there is not even one Nativity Scene with the Christ Child who is the reason we celebrate Christmas. The pictures look unfinished as many designs on the inner edge of the page and the outer edge have no border so the picture/design trails off the page . The pages are two sided. The author states that you can use felt tip markers and gel pens however they will bleed through rendering the back page useless. Overall I am disappointed with this book because of these issues. Had I realized this I would not have purchased this book.

This book is beautiful! My biggest issue with it is that many of the images are VERY small and intricate - which makes it a little tough to color. It's not as relaxing to color when you're trying to fill tiny lines. I do like the imagery though.

Absolutely the most gorgeous Christmas coloring book! It is definitely for the experienced colorist though! My only criticism is that , like most coloring books the designs are printed on both sides....so you have to either buy two books or have pages copied if you like to use markers.....I've looked at all the other Christmas books out there and hers is definitely the most refined!

El 85% de las laminas tienen un buen diseño si quieres las puedes desprender así como el papel es de buena calidad, lo único malo es que viene por los dos lados yo utilizo plumones para dibujar por lo que es un inconveniente para mi.

I haven't tried this book yet but the pictures look great. Will wait until next Christmas since I bought them after the holiday was over.
