I love this item soooo much. It has helped me measure my builds correctly for an reasonable price. I was comparing it to tools found at home depot i was amazed that the non-digital ones are more expensive than this Caliper. The responsiveness of the digital read is always ready once i start measuring is a plus as well.I didn't like how the caliper's case. It was flimsy and it broke when I tried opening it for the first time which made me hesitant at first. But once I started using it, I dint care about the case and I ended up building a 3d printed one instead.Overall, I do recommend this item especially when you are measuring you builds for medium 3d printing object.

I've worked with higher quality digital calipers in my drafting career, but these are absolutely functional for this price. The only complaint I have that makes me long for my old high-dollar set, is the sliding action and roller. It's just a little stiff/sticky/resistant to motion. It feels like a metallic granule grind when making fine adjustments, and I fear that over time with enough use, it will swing heavily to the opposite end of the spectrum and become loose and sloppy. I have not put these through a lot of use at this point, so that is just an assumption based on the tactile feedback I am getting.

A tad "gritty" but a few days of use and a few drops of Rem Oil (gun cleaning oil) and they are about as smooth as my 25 year old non-digital Starette US made Calipers.Very happy with the for the price, nice big clear display.Came with a spare battery, good thing, because the one in it was DOA.Cover is kinda cheap, but locks snug, and considering it's about $12.00 vs $250+, well worth it.I use them for handling, and they hold measurement and zero very well unless you try to open the jaw too fast, which even the pricey ones do on the digital versions.

Just received this. I'm giving it 5 stars as it will work great for what I bought it for. I'm a woodworker with aging eyes and seeing numbers on drill bits and rulers is difficult. It also gives me a quick cross from inches to metric without crossing the room to look at my chart. Many plans I have ordered come with metric measurements so when running a board through a planer or saw it's great to be able to check sizing when all my equipment is marked off in inches.Update battery is alkaline. Original died with very little use maybe because it sat for a while before it sold. Another possibility in that since the tool sits tight in the case it accidentally turned on. I'm leaving the second battery out in the nice hole provided in the case. It does work great though in my wood shop. Inside/outside/depth measurements.If I was a machinist I wouldn't buy a $11 item to make a $100 and up part. You get what you pay for. Quite frankly if you buy on line and it breaks early you have to decide if it's worth shipping back when shipping costs as much as you paid.I'll update if this opinion changes. So far I got what I needed!

I have ordered two of these now, and the second one was delivered today. I could not be happier with the first one I ordered, and I use them almost daily. The second order on the other hand.... well these arrived today and they were covered in black soot, which got all over my hands and looks to be up inside of the slider area. The slider is hard to move and very "crunchy" while it does move, so it is not as smooth of a sliding action as the first one I ordered.I cleaned up the ones that were delivered today, and even attempted to try to ease the movement with a couple drops of oil, but that did not help.The second order also arrived with a dead battery installed. So instead of having a spare battery, I now have to find and purchase the small button battery that is needed.I purchased the second one as a gift for a friend of mine, and now I am not sure I even want to give these to them as they are nothing like the ones I use every day.If you are considering purchasing these, they are hit or miss as to the quality I guess. And now that I have referred these calipers to so many people, I wonder just how many of them also received the same poor quality that I did the second time. Also, yes, both were purchased from the same seller.

Nice packaging. Caliper is pretty accurate when repeated measurements of the same item are taken. Honestly my only complaint is the On/Off button. I find my to be a bit finicky. At times I hit it once and the unit turns off and on again. I often have to hit the button very quickly. I have not yet had an issue with it turning on while in the case, but I do feel like that could be an issue if I were transporting it. For my needs it can stay on the shelf in the basement.

It was DOA on arrival, but that proved to be a dead battery. It came with a spare so it now works (but no more spare). The good news is it is one of those very common pill-shaped batteries like in a calculator and should be available anywhere. The machining is not the best, but certainly adequate. Everything moves reasonably smoothly. The read-out on all these calipers is nearly identical, so no comment there. This is the lowest price metal caliper I could find. It is supposed to be stainless steel, but if it is, it is feritic stainless, as it adheres well to a magnet. On the other hand, it might rust, as they don't specify the alloy; but keeping it in its box (nice padded box) should obviate this problem.
