Ive had cold sores since I was a kid and typically used Abreva. I think it stopped working because with Abreva, my little cold sore monsters still develop/last 5 days but take and additional week and a half for the scarring to fully heal. It's the worst. I pretty much want to quit my job Everytime I get an outbreak which has been really frequent. (Oye! Holidays)But with AverteaX- no one notices I even have an outbreak. It stops it from forming if put on right away, and it stays soft and doesn't scab so I don't pick it (huzzah!). Usually completely gone and back to being able to kiss my girlfriend without fear of spreading it in 3 days. I've used this product for 5 months (3 outbreaks) and have gotten the same results. It's amazing!!! Hope it works for you the same.

I’ve purchased this product before and it was amazing. This most recent tubes (two) however had a funny black line on the tip, which fine, whatever. Until I squeezed the tube and product had a completely different color, texture/viscosity and odor; it even made my lips burn and feel very dry! I think I received a product that was tampered with.EDIT: according to the makers of Averteax, and their website, this product should be light brown in color. All tubes I’ve purchased from this seller on amazon are WHITE or OFFWHITE. Do not buy from here! Order directly from sellers website.

I have tried every cold sore treatment on the market. Prescription, OTC, herbal, homeopathic, you name it, I've tried it. This is the only thing that works for me. My cold sores mostly come on overnight, so I'll wake up in the morning with a blister on/around my lip. If I put this on right away, the blister stops forming and immediately begins to scab over. It's like it skips from Day 1 to Day 4. I told my coworker about this product and he had the same results.

This stuff works (and not just on HSV-1) and for this reason it would get 5 stars. I do wish it were more affordably priced or came in a larger tube option. Wishful thinking aside, I do want to state that I recommend this product along with Sovereign Silver to wipe out troublesome manifestations in mere days rather a week or more.

I get cold sores about twice a year...I always buy the store brand version of ABREVA and it is pretty crappy. I heard that AVERTEX worked just as good as the name brand. It did work faster than the store brand--it was very warm and made my sore area numb. And it was cheaper than the ABREVA which was $25 for 5oz

I’ve had cold sores for many years and every time I purchase abreva an it takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks for it to be completely gone. I tried averteax out and not exaggerating it’s day 2 and it’s almost completely gone. It does sting a bit when applied but I rather deal with a bit of a sting than a huge sore for days, even weeks. So glad I found this!

I wish I had found this years and years ago! It would have saved me many uncomfortable moments both physical and social. My dental hygienist gave me a sample and I was hooked. I had a 2 day fever blister instead of an 8 day one, plus so much smaller, and only a little pain.

I get cold sores for 2 different reasons:1-If I get really horribly sick and get a fever2-I have allergies to a lot of products (example: I can't wear lipstick due to the color elements, or my lips blister) and if something touches my lips it happens pretty instant.I only get a cold sore 1-2 times a year, but it's embarrassing. I started to feel one coming on 2 days before an event, and had this stuff over-nighted based off the reviews. It completely stopped the cold sore from fully surfacing. I could feel the small bump under my skin, but it never rose to the surface so you couldn't see anything! Yay! After about 2 days of use the under the skin bump went away. Thank goodness for this. I keep it in my purse now so if I ever feel a cold sore coming on again I can stop it.
