Keep Your Old Shaft, Works Well
This worked to fix a shaft that got bent when it hit a tree while on the back of my side by side. DO NOT THROW OUT THE OLD SHAFT. You will need the flexible drive shaft out of it. Cost me about a half as much as buying a replacement lower. It's really simple to use this. There are small screws on the end of the trimmer head. One is a hex the other is a star drive. Loosen these and the head will come right off. Now pull the drive shaft out and move it to the new tube. Put everything back together and you are ready to go back to work.

Weedeater lower shaft dont be fooled its a pipe with no guts to make it a working shaft.no
What a ripoff no where in the ad did the phrase (not complete) or (must order another part to complete shaft) appear.
