This merino wool base layer is perfect! I love the zipper to be able to vent of I get overheated and I also love the close fitting hood. It seems very well made and the material is soft. I will definitely get another one in a different color. The wine color I bought is very pretty.

Purchased on the recommendation of an experienced gear-expert hiking leader. I generally don't love wool next to my sweaty skin, but I am trying to get away from plastics in clothing. This is a very fine texture wool and not itchy at all. I love having a hood with zipper as it provides many ways to layer up or vent heat while on a hike without stopping your hiking buddies to go in and out of your pack.These are fitted tight to function as a base layer, if you will use it as a lightweight midlayer you might want to go up a size.I bought a second one in black a size up, and love it as a real life top not just for hiking.

This high quality top has a flattering design, is not itchy, and very well made. Great for layering and keeping me warm on my hikes without being bulky! Love it!

This jacket had a nice feel and flattering fit. I am slender and it looks really nice. You can easily layer base layers underneath.

I like it very much. So far it is super comfortable as a base layer and good by itself when I warm up. I am 5'7, 170, athletic muscular, and the large fits nicely. Not too long, short, tight or loose. I have not yet tested it in really freezing temperatures or for longevity, but so far I am content with it. With proper care, I believe it should keep the warmth and color and smell fresh.Thickness is good for me as it is. Functionality seems solid as someone who works outdoors in the 4 seasons. Color is as advertised. I am considering to buy another.

Thinner than appears in pictures. Warm and breathable. Great for when layers are needed. A size larger made for a more comfortable fit. Zero constricted movement. Good quality zipper. The hood helps to keep the chill off your ears and the back of your neck. Great as a base-layer for a hat. The effectiveness and fit is worth paying a little extra compared to the average quality base-layers out there.

I'm 5'6" and 135 lbs. I usually order either a medium or large in other similar Marino wool brands. Amazon recommended medium, but I wanted to be able to layer it so I ordered a large. I couldn’t believe That it completely hugged my body still!! And they don’t even offer an XL!! I gave it three stars because if you were tiny or want to hug your body, this is a very great quality shirt otherwise. I just wish the sizing was better.
