60" Snake Tongs Foldable Reptile Grabber Catcher Wide Jaw Handling Tool with Auto Lock and Non-Slip Grip Handle

I am so afraid of snakes and there are so many of them around so I purchased this snake catcher and i must say its one of my best purchases ever. It works like a charm and give me the confidence I need, the only thing is that for us women it may be a bit heavy but a fantastic tool.

I like it. I'll probably add some plasti-dip or hockey tape on the handle and tongs for both comfort and grip. It would be great if it had a notch that lines up the two pieces. It's technically possible to use one handed, if you need to use a baffle board or bucket lid in your other hand, but I would practice before the necessity arises.It takes a bit of strength to pick up something 60 inches away from your body. If that's a concern, something either shorter or made with lighter materials might be a better choice.

The negative is that I can't see how this tool made in China can cost this much. The positive is that you can pick up a snake and move it to where you want it without harming the snake. I used it to remove a black racer from a closet. The snake was clearly not in any distress as I took it outside and let it go. I have a couple of these snakes that patrol our house regularly and don't seem particularly bothered by my presence. It has tried to come in our lanai even when I was standing in the doorway and had to shoo it away. Apparently, it came in the garage with I had the door open and worked its way into the interior of the house. I locked it in our walk-in closet where it stayed while I ordered this tool which came very quickly.

Recently had a timber rattlesnake in my yard and was very pleased to have this.

We get sometimes really fat snakes and this tools rat right was awesome! It latched and locked around it's no neck making it easy for disassembling. Yaaasss! It's perfect!

I already caught a snake at a neighbor's garage. Thinking it was venomous he was going to kill it. I went there with my snake grabber to catch it just to find out it was just a water snake, non venomous! I had relocate it. Poor thing... People say that a good snake is a dead snake and they are wrong. I learned that from watching a YouTube channel "sensei in the wild" I think. Anyways, this coolest snake grabber saved a snake's life and gave a sense of peace to my neighbor and made me look like a hero too!

I ordered this because with the warmer weather the snakes are on the move. This item is solid and sturdy. It's long but it does fold up. The downside is it's heavy. It will require two hands to use, which is bad if your putting a snake in a container. You better have help. Not sure it's for me.

Looked really good until I had to use them to catch a snake. The spring broke off so the jaws would not reopen to release the snake! Returning for a refund and purchasing an alternative.
