I am disabled with chronic illnesses, so my diet is very poor. I do take various supplements when I am able, including vitamins and minerals. Very often though, I am unable to eat a proper meal, and then take capsules, so in 2020, I decided to try gummies, as a kind of a back up, for those times when I can't eat much.I have been taking these Elderberry Gummies on and off now for about 12 months. I bought them, as they seem to contain the highest amount of zinc (10mg), out of all the "immune complex" gummies, and do appear to be the best value for money. I was surprised at how nice they are! They taste like gummy sweets!Unusually, for me though, I initially didn't check the actual ingredients, particularly because the description said they were all natural. It was only a few weeks ago that I decided to read the ingredients, and was actually shocked to see that they contain 2 chemical additives.● Sodium hexametaphosphate :Sodium hexametaphosphate, also known as its abbreviation SHMP, a polyphosphate commonly used in dairy products, sausage, seafood, meat processing, toothpaste, and also in water treatment. The European food additive number for it is E452i. Generally, its purpose in food is as a texturizer, sequestrant, thickener, and emulsifier.SHMP is permitted to use as a flavoring agent or adjuvant in fruit jellies, cheese, frozen desserts and food dressing. It is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) when used as a sequestrant in accordance with good manufacturing practice, although some people are allergic or sensitive to it.A report published in the International Journal Of Toxicology in 2001, finding that SHMP caused several side effects in chronic studies in animals, as follows:growth inhibitionkidney weights increasingbone decalcificationparathyroid hypertrophy and hyperplasiainorganic phosphaturiahepatic focal necrosis, and muscle fiber size alterations● Trisodium citrate:Trisodium citrate has the chemical formula of Na3C6H5O7. It is sometimes referred to simply as "sodium citrate".Sodium citrate is chiefly used as a food additive, usually for flavor or as a preservative. Its E number is E331. Sodium citrate is employed as a flavoring agent in certain varieties of club soda. It is common as an ingredient in bratwurst, and is also used in commercial ready-to-drink beverages and drink mixes, contributing a tart flavor. It is found in gelatin, ice cream, yogurt, jams, sweets, milk powder, processed cheeses, carbonated beverages, and wine, amongst others.Serious side effects of citric acid, potassium citrate, and sodium citrate include numbness or tingly feeling, swelling or rapid weight gain, muscle twitching or cramps, fast or slow heart rate, confusion, or mood changes, bloody or tarry stools, severe stomach pain, ongoing diarrhea, or seizure (convulsions).Now I'm not a biochemist, so if you are concerned, please do your own research.I just think that there are enough E numbers hidden in foods, that i don't want them in my vitamins as well!Recently, in January 2021, I received another bottle of these, via my subscribe and save subscription, and strangely, the ingredients list had changed, and didn't include the above 2 additives. However, today they flashed up as a special offer, and again, it listed the chemicals in the ingredients, so it's kind of a gamble, as to whether or not you receive the one with additives in, or not!There are two more red flags for me, in that the price drops by 50-60% occasionally, which is a LOT.Also, I have tried two different ways to apply for the free bottle, and have never received anything.Conclusion:I have decided to stop this particular gummy, and buy the "Nature's Way Alive Immune Support" instead. This brand has been around for decades. They don't have the nice smooth texture or flavour that the Octo gummies have, but at least I know what's in them.See photos for variation of ingredients.

I purchased this product for my 8 Yr old who prefers chewable vitamins. I only happened to come across them because my usual brand of elderberry chewables has been sold out for some time abd so the hunt was on for a replacement. When compared these ones from Octo Nutrition to other brands of chewable supplements containing elderberry, they had a higher elderberry content and I like the fact that they also contain Vitamin C and Zinc.I have always given my children elderberry supplements to help with their immunity, but in these current times I am trying to ensure that their supplement intake is kept up and whilst they are no substitute for eating a healthy and balanced diet, it makes me feel better knowing I am doing all I can to help keep up their immunity levels.I haven't tried the gummies myself, but they smell lovely, have a nice 'squidgy' texture really a bit like yummy sweets do not too hard and not too soft, and my son jumps at the chance to chew these after breakfast every morning. Have no problem purchasing again.

I've bought these in preparation for the coming cold and flu season, primarily to boost my children's immune systems. Elderberry is a remarkable immune booster, as is Vitamin C. Zinc also has a very important role to play in immunity. These are therefore a superb combination.On taste-test with my children, the unanimous verdict has been that they are delicious, so it won't be difficult to give them these at first signs of any snuffle, and that for me is the most convenient factor in these. Of course, these will be kept high shelf in the medicine cabinet because they do have that sweetie factor about them. For adults, taking a few supplements to boost specific vitamin and mineral levels is not a big deal but with children it's always more difficult. These are safe for children 6+ years so I'm happy with this purchase. Any adult who isn't great on taking tablets or would like a different way to get their elderberry sambucus dosage should be pleased with these too.

👍Fantastic delicious flavour, appealing texture, the colour is quite lovely shade of purple, just the right amount of firmness, and the gummies size is perfect for all to enjoy. 👍These gummies are priced appropriately, but the only thing that I want more gummies in the bottle. Lol They are that yummy.Side not they included a note to encourage more direct business and in corresponding with them they via email; I was very happy with their friendliness. This is a family run business and it shows that they care about the product they produce and the customers happiness is important. 💯

I bought these for my 16 year old daughter about 4 months ago to boost her immune system during these uncertain times. She has ASD and many other complex conditions including an enzyme deficiency that prevents her from having any dairy products so finding vitamins and supplements that are lactose free can be difficult and trying anything new can be a struggle for her, but because these are chewable, tasty, vegan gummies we’ve had no problem and have a 4 weekly subscription so we never run out.

I have heard elderberries are high in quercetin which helps cells absorb zinc. My mild upper respiratory infection that’s been going on for months seems to have been cured after taking this chewy gummy. I’d tried zinc and vitamin C combinations - they didn’t seem to work completely. I’m keeping these as a standby for any sniffles in future. Got this to try because we wanted to take immunity supplements, but someone in my family doesn’t like the taste of the Sambucol elderberry gummies I bought previously. These have good ingredients, and the taste is much nicer than the Sambucol bottle! They also better value. I will definitely buy again.
