Fisherman's Friends

Good and wholesome, which is really hard to find these days.

I loved this movie, and have watched it several times! We even rented again to watch with guests who visited us, because we knew they would love it, too. The music is wonderful! The story is funny, engaging and sweet. It's impossible to say just how good this movie is!

Not knowing the true story this served as a charming substitute I think. Guess it is very much like any other drama-docu; close to the truth, but not close enough to actually BE the truth. Acting is good enough, but the music is what makes it! I even bought the CD, lol

I absolutely LOVE this movie and so did my husband. It is a true story and features some really great sea shanty singing. The story is sweet and inspiring and takes place in the same town (Port Isaac) as the Doc Martin series, so if you are a fan of Doc Martin, you will definately want to see this! We loved seeing Port Isaac again. I recently discovered there is a sequel to Fisherman's Friends- and it is just as good! That being said, my (adult) daughter hated it- but then she doesn't enjoy sea shantys and won't watch any movie where people sing. If you want a feel good movie, this one is at the top of the list!

I lived near where this story occurred for 26 years of my life. I think therefore, I can say with some justification that, having seen and heard the real 'Fisherman's Friends' sing, this comes across as a very good portrayal of the story, albeit with one or two embellishments for effect. That said, those embellishments (the love interest, the characterisations) do not detract from a perfect 'brain candy' film. So, sit back, and, importantly, give the story time to develop. Before long you will be donning a roll-neck sweater as your head fills with sea shanties while the film gathers pace and direction. The point where you realise you have become one of the extras, occurs at about 1hr 27mins into the film. What follows over the next three or four minutes is beautifully moving and done with a power that leaves the eyes stinging and the clocks stopped. You are now hooked.Naturally, all things come together at the end, as all heart-warming films do, and must. This one, like the best of the genre, is good enough to leave you gazing mindlessly at the credits. - So, find some peace, switch off, and escape as I did, to a place and time we all wished we lived in.

I loved the down to earth people and their traditions and love for each other.

I was a fan of Fisherman's Friends after I found their song "No Hopers, Jokers & Rogues" on YouTube. It has phenomenal quality, so I highly recommend it. This is also the song sung while they're celebrating in the movie and I believe it is the same track. So... After I discovered a movie was made about them, I was psyched! I wasn't quite sure what I was getting myself into, but it was definitely entertaining and cute. Plenty of sea shanty-type songs, which I'm a fan of. But not too over the top with the singing, either. It was a good balance. Definitely deserves the five-star rating and I'm giving it mine. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys quality music (check out their songs elsewhere, as well) or a predictable romance movie with a twist.

Movie is good but case came broken but disc survived

J'ai adoré ce film au cinéma et la VO et la version française sont différentes mais réussies. Des hommes et des paysages, qui donnent envie de revoir ce film tiré d'une histoire vraie...
