Excellent USB hand warmer
I'm an experienced hand warmer consumer, having Raynaud's disease (cold finger issues) and always on the lookout for good handwarmers. This is one of the 7 I've owned or tried. The Xcel has an excellent capacity at 8800mAh. Based on experience with this kind of product, I wouldn't go below 7500. 8800 is a nice 15 % bump up from that. Ignoring manufacturers' claims about battery life, which are worthless, hand warmers of this capacity should get about 3-4 hours of usage between charges. The Xcel exactly performed to that expectation for me. Importantly, there is *no* such thing as a USB handwarmer that gets anywhere near the 8-10 hours claimed. Doesn't matter which brand, doesn't matter how much you spend, so just forget that, and shoot for a solid 3-4 hour expectation, which this one delivers. All of the USB handwarmers have similar features, but there are some differences at the margins. The Xcel has a really nice feature - a physical switch to choose high, low, and off. Most of them either don't have a low/high option (like the SunJack) or have one button you have to hold down again and again to toggle. The Xcel is an "old school" switch design, and is far superior.Aesthetically it is pleasing, and atypical, since almost all rechargeable hand warmers have a flattish shape. Whether this elongated square shape is more to your liking than the flatter ones, is personal choice. My wife prefers the flatter ones; I really like this blockier shape better. It's just a matter of preference. The Xcel's square, bulky shape is perfect for wrapping your whole hand all around it to heat all five fingers and palm. For indoor use or putting it in a coat pocket, it's perfect. For front pocket carry, it's probably a bit bulky and a flatter one might make more sense. Kozy sells one which is very similar to this product but is flatter and wider (I also reviewed that one, but I think the XCel is better on several fronts - better capacity, much better switch, and hotter).I have noticed that there's more heat toward the bottom of the unit than the top; the heat is not consistently applied. I won't dock it a star for that, because I don't think it's a big deal, but it's worth noting. This unit has a very, very nice lo/medium setting, at which it pumps out just enough heat to be "warming" without burning your hand, and the battery lasts a very long time at that setting. I haven't measured it on a continuous run at the low/medium setting, but it seems like it'd get 5+ hours, which is a very long run time for a handwarmer.Overall, it's a very solid product at a fair price, and I'd say it is probably the best of the bunch. If you get into using it frequently, you will really appreciate the best-in-class large battery size, which will give you maximum amount of heating time between charges.

Works as advertised!
I bought two of these and have used them several times so far. Testing one of my units with an infrared temp gun, Low is was nice and warm, getting to 110 degrees F. In two minutes. Switching to High achieved 116.1 degrees F. one minute later. The unit gets hottest near the bottom end. The unit puts out great heat for hours and hours, even on high. I got over 7 hours of toasty heat from them, even though they were on high a good part of the time. The light seems to put out perhaps 50-60 lumens. (About the same as a good quality AAA LED penlight.)The unit recharges quickly if you plug it into any 2.1 or 2.4 amp smart charger. (Not included)The USB port will fast charge devices that don't require more than 2.1 amps. (iPhones, iPads, most other phones and tablets.) Don't try to use it as a charger while having the hand warmer function turned on at the same time. It has the power to do one or the other, but not both operations at once. The included cloth warming pouch is a nice addition, and really does seem to enhance the device's warming operation.

Great! I bought more!
This review is for the 10,400mAh model.I ordered one hand warmer of this model, and a much cheaper model from a different company to compare. I was curious if the extra cost was worth it, and I have to say yes! My family and I took both models to Disney World for a week and some of the late evenings got chilly. We ended up passing around the Kozy and leaving the cheap one in the bag. The main reason we didn't use the cheap model is that "low" on the cheap one meant it turned itself on and off on a regular basis, which meant even on low it got too hot to hold for a while. The Kozy doesn't do this--low is low and high is high, and the heat is constant and steady.Pros:- The hard switch. Most warmers have a button that is easy to bump, especially since you tend to put this in a jacket pocket. This switch is impossible to bump by accident.- It gets warm quickly. Reviews say it takes 15 minutes to get up to temperature, but that isn't my experience. Within a minute it is warm.- It isn't as big as it looks in the picture. It fits my hand comfortably, and I can wrap my fingers around it. My wife and I decided this was preferable to the flat models, because this one seems easy to hold.- The flashlight requires a "double click" to turn on, which means I never turn it on by accident.- The bag fits it. It has a square bottom so there aren't annoying corners sticking out.Cons:- The lights on it are pretty bright at night. They could be annoying if you don't use the bag- Requires a 1.5A charger.I liked this so much I bought 4 more of them--one additional for my family and 3 for Christmas presents. I keep this one in my car most of the time and have been using it to warm my hands while I drive. I am very pleased with this hand warmer, as you can tell!
