An important Story!
Wow. Just wow... I am still in absolute awe of this poignant and intimate look at how the infamous follow up to ANOES affected the career of Mark Patton. I could not imagine being in his shoes - a leading role that was set to spark a strong career for years to come... inadvertently causing him to essentially go into hiding due to its homosexual themes. At the rise of the AIDS epidemic in the 80s, it was very hard to be a leading man while trying to hide being gay. Mark is courageous for letting us go on this journey with him and telling this important story. And for using his platform to shine light onto a side of Hollywood we never get to see. He’s a true role model to today’s LGBTQ youth. Representation matters and I’m glad to see him use his platform to promote acceptance and fight homophobia. Thank you to Mark - for bringing Jessie to life and giving us the first male scream queen.

Doco i'm proud to have contributed money towards
This is a phenomenal documentary and I'm glad I helped with putting money towards the kickstarter (my names in the credits). Product-wise the blu-ray didn't include the dust jacket as pictured on the product page, hence 4 stars for false advertising. The listing also falsely states that it is only region A, when it is actually ABC.

It's what you may expect and and tons more.
I was expecting a cute doco about one of my fave horror movies. It IS that, but once it has a hold of you, get ready for an education! This doco is a JOURNEY! This is a true story of a reclaiming of power and self, not just for it's star Mark Patton and those involved with the film, but for me personally. I wasn't expecting that. I felt every emotion taking this ride, from elation to anger, sadness and triumph. This isn't just for horror fans. This is history, and it pulls no punches. I highly recommend. It's beautifully shot and edited and the music will give you the feels. Must see especially if you've ever felt like the underdog. You will feel empowered by the end. Excellent film.

Beautiful companion piece to NOES2...
Do yourself a favor and see this multi-informative gem of a documentary! Not only does it cover Mark Patton’s life, before and after “A Nightmare On Elm Street 2”, it shines a light on the homophobia and bullying, within Hollywood, during the AIDS crisis in 80’s. Amidst all that, it focuses on the “subtext” that David Chaskin cleverly wrote into the script which caused Mark’s role, as Jesse Walsh, to be scrutinized for years. I feel there is something here for just about everyone! Film historians, horror fans, and LGBT people of every age!
