mediocre hardware, excellent technical support through AARP, well worth it for older relatives
I bought this for my grandmother for Christmas. As she is older, and not great with technology, I was apprehensive about getting her a tablet at all, but the AARP free tech support swayed me. They have helped her though a few issues now, which makes my life easier and well worth the money. This isn't anything special in terms of hardware, and really more comparable to a $40 off brand android tablet, but with the included tech support and year of AARP membership I think it makes it well worth it for those of us with technically challenged relatives.

They use a poor quality battery
They use a poor quality battery. It stop taking a charge after three month. I like the how it is easy to use.

Great tablet for its time.
My first tablet. (Impulse buy from chain store.). Is solid, more so then these newer tablets. Charging port failed after few years. Bought another from Amazon, probably used, because free year Aarp was already redeemed. Called Aarp and received membership extension. I still use occasionally. Android 4.4.2. Not upgradeable. 1 gig ram 16 gig storage. Turn off auto update for apps. (will overwhelm system, etc.)Was good to delve into the tablet technology of that time.I did purchase another Realpad from Amazon, for a backup Realpad.Aarp stopped promoting Realpad citing the advances in technology did not fit their business model. I believe support is still available.Durable, basic functionality, good, solidly built. Battery life good.(when my tablet was new and still is). Realpad been discontinued for years. So don't expect latest and greatest in technology.Review: March 18, 2018.

Grandma's New Camera!
Ordered for my mother for her convenience -AARP is a great company and this came highly recommended. The customer service we recieved from AARP is great, they are always so nice and easy to work with. Had some connectivity issues with the internet and AARP helped us right away. The technology on these things is super advanced and we are simple people who dont need all of it, but mom finds the app buttons' enlargement makes them easy to see, and relatively easier to use than one of those tiny cell phones. We like it. The camera is really sensitive but the screen is really big and that's really nice. Plus you can go ahead and upload pictures from the tablet straight to the social media website of your choice.

Having technical background, this product has various limitations. It did satisfied my need to be able to have a nice size photo display and be able to transport thousands of photos. All this at a reasonable price. I have been using it to read books with Kindle and it has been great for that.

Buy a cover at Walmart...they actually fit!
I have now had this item for about five weeks and it is like my right hand. It is very simple to navigate, I haven't run into very many things that are not compatible with it, (whereas my mother in law's Windows Surface Tablet which was over $400 is always telling her that things are not compatible with it.....such as google chrome.....how silly.), I purchased mine refurbished for $79.99 and haven't had any problems thus far. Also, Walmart now sells covers that have a hole in the right place for the camera on this tablet. Yay!

My Advice? Run Away - Fast and Now.
Oh, man. It’s been a long time between receipt and review. Bad, bad, bad. It had dirt on it right out of the box. Someone’s picture was on it. The small accessory plastic bags were right on top and empty and dirty. It was like the sellers kids switched a used one, or just messed with it and put it back. Anyway, it fizzled out within a few months. Amazon was cool - told me to write to the seller. But I was too disgusted. If I could do over, I’d rather light a fifty dollar bill on fire than do business with these people again.
