MIRA Digital Kitchen Scale - Accurate, Attractive and Useful!
I was looking for a kitchen scale that promised accuracy and ease of use in a small footprint. The MIRA Digital Kitchen Scale met and surpassed my expectations. I prefer to weigh the ingredients for bread and dough recipes and this scale is ideal for that purpose. I can weigh all the dry ingredients into a single bowl by zeroing out after each addition. The results are so much better than what we had with the less exacting volume measure routine. We also have taken up the practice of weighing out portions so we get used to what four, six or eight ounces looks like. It had only been a few weeks and my husband has happily lost eight pounds simply by portion control. This scale is simple to use and the glass surface cleans up so easily, it is a dream! Someone suggested covering the surface with plastic wrap for easy clean up and we do that on occasion as well. The silver finish looks great in our mid-century kitchen with chrome trim and stainless steel appliances. We keep the scale on the counter and use it several times a day.

I have used the same scale about 100 times a day for 3 years. Best scale on the market!
I not only am a chef, but I mail out about 100 boxes a day measured by weight. I actually bought a second scale just like my first, because1. I can't live without it2. It's the best on the marketIf you look at my reviews I own a closet full of scales because companies send them to me to review as a top reviewer. I have some really good scales. But to date, in the last 3 years, this is the model I keep out and use all the time.It is ALWAYS correct in accuracy. I test my scales with scale weights to be sure. I actually use this one more than my $600 commercial scale when working with clients in developing new recipes. It's super fast. The battery lasts about 10 times longer than a regular scale, making it pay for itself. Why? It uses the round batteries that last forever where most use the AA or AAA batteries that you have to change out all the time.It fits away in a drawer because it is so small yet it will measure big boxes and pots--just center them in the middle and you can still read the readout due to it being under the topThe top is glass so it's easy to cleanThis shows more accuracy--for example, I can know something is 5.47 ounces rather than 5.4 ounces like most scales might readThe tare function is faster than other scales.I use my scales so much that I was breaking a scale every 6 months. This scale is now 3 years old. It's a workhorse. Better than a commercial scale.I can measure in all ounces or pounds and ounces, or grams etc.I drop it, bang it around, carry it to work and back, leave it in my car. I can't hurt it.It tells me when the battery is running low on the readout--it tells me how full the battery is at ALL times. Others scales just windup giving you the wrong reading then suddenly a message says the battery is gone and you are in the middle of a recipe and have to run out and buy new batteries. With this one, you know how much life you have in your battery so you know when to replace it.I like it enough that I had to buy a second one just in case they ever discontinue it because I love it that much.I just realized I have not reviewed this yet...I thought I'd given it a shout out long ago!Not sure if you need a scale or not? When I was a weight loss coach I used to shock everyone by showing people exactly why they needed a kitchen scale in addition to their bathroom scale if they wanted accuracy in food. It's crazy to me that in America no one gets this unless they go to culinary school it seems--people will tell you that 8 ounces is a cup, but they do not realize that a cup measures fluid ounces. Anything with air and spaces, such as meat or elbow pasta etc, is measured not in fluid ounces--simply in ounces. So, let's say a recipe calls for 8 ounces of elbow macaroni. You'd wind up using about half of what you are supposed to if you use a measuring cup.A measuring cup will work for fluid as well as flour, sugar, and things that are hard packed--not veggies, proteins, pasta etc. For that, you need this. For baking, it is very important in order to get the same results each time though if you are creating a family recipe or something you will make often, but I won't go into a culinary lesson here.Because I also use a scale for shipping, I have used my share of them.

Solid, basic, and cost effective
This scale is exactly what I was looking for, and it performs exactly as advertised. This is the first digital scale I've owned, so I wanted just the basics (but at least with a "tare" function and options for ounces/grams). This one was perfect on all counts. It's got a good sized platform and is very stable. The readings are quick and clear.I've only had it for a week, so I can't say anything about its durability, but it feels very solid and well built. The glass platform is not too thin. Seems like it can take a little abuse. The scale also has a heavy feel to it, so I'm not worried that it will be too fragile. The one area of concern I had was that liquid might get into the buttons, as they don't appear to be sealed at all. That's quickly remedied with a bit of plastic wrap when needed, though, so I'm not worried there.Of course, the other concern for a scale this inexpensive is long-term accuracy. I guess I'll just have to monitor that as I go.One other thing I like about this product as opposed to others at this price point is that the manufacturer (MIRA/Coheso) seems to be a small company and seems to care about the product. They only make one model of kitchen scale (or have it made for them), so this scale isn't just the bottom of some huge company's line that is made with the cheapest parts possible. If you only make one model of scale, your reputation in that market will succeed or fail on the quality of that model. Also, they're a U.S. company (even close to my home, in Pleasanton, CA), and they even give a street address on their website. How many products to you buy from Amazon where you're worried about a defect or quality issues because they're from an unknown company, probably overseas, that's only willing to publish an e-mail address? I'm not xenophobic, but old fashioned customer service gives met the warm fuzzies.I'm happy with this purchase on all levels so far.

Accurate & lasts a long time
I had this scale for 6 years. I used it twice a day every day to measure my dogs raw food. We moved across the country and it made it, until after we got to our destination and it fell out of the car and onto the ground and the glass completely shattered 😔 womp. Loved it & was going to re-buy, but budget is tight now so I'm going with a stainless steel kitchen scale that's more than half the price 🤷🏼♀️

Buena compra.
