Assessing Your Prophetic Self: Discover and Train Your Gifts of Prophecy (Prophetic Primer)

This is not a book you read straight through. You have to take your time to process what is being said as well as study along with the Scripture references. It is small, but it is packed! Dr. Price greatly presents the prophetic as an academic discipline. Much like any discipline and a book on its subject matter, it is filled with specific terminology that is not used in common language.My only critique is from the print version. The word clouds are not as clear, and there was a couple of images missing. I also believe a different format with wider margins would allow for better note taking and annotation due to the extensive information presented.

This book is filled with metrics, measures, definers, and clarifiers, just to name a few, that help the prophetic professional to assess what they do. The content truly empowers the practitioner to do what pg. 11 states, “our focus will not be solely on prophetics and prophecy, but more importantly, we will learn how to assess them”. Distinct from other writings that address prophecy and different manifestations of the prophetic as their focus. This book empowers the practitioner to assess how effectively they are utilizing prophecy tools to actually perform the outcomes of their job. Like a doctor or a surgeon, for example. A surgeon uses a scalpel, but they don’t assess performance on simply being able to identify and use a scalpel. They assess their professional outcomes through the biotics or vitals of the patient. Blood pressure, heart rate, blood tests, etc. become part of the assessment system that determines how well the use of the scalpel produced the effect of their job. As pg. 22 states, “in the same way scientific formulas are compounded from specific substances, so it is with prophecy.” Assessing Your Prophetic Self ushers the prophetic practitioner into the formulaic, technological aspects of their prophetic stream, prophetic makeup, prophetic assignment and prophetic practices.” It is a five-star resource for those who want to not only know about the prophetic but perform its job and identify its outcomes!

Assessing Your Prophetic as been an eye opening tool to understand my prophectic self. The additional assessment was also helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to understand, learn, and begin to assess themself prophectically!!!!

Dr. Price's book sheds light on how to be a true prophet and agent of the Godhead. Consider it a foundational book that causes a paradigm shift concerning the prophetic and the office of the prophet. This book will impact prophets at every level. Those who are new to the prophetic will get insight into God's mind, intents, and purposes for His prophetic staff. More advanced prophets will benefit as they may realize gaps in their own understanding, and will now have the wisdom and knowledge from the throne of God to be effective guardians.As with any job position, there are prescribed duties, responsibilities, and accountability attached that role. Having this level of information positions prophets to begin to operate as loyal and holy agents instead of double agents. There's a common phrase "When you know better, you do better," and this book helps God's prophetic staff do better as many have been ill-trained, ill-informed, and lacking the capability to tackle a hefty and weighty position.I'm extremely excited to have purchased this book, and I recommend ministries all over the world purchase and introduce this book to their staff and congregation!Another great book from Apostle Paula Price!!!!

The title wreaks of blasphemy. Like, it has been established that the Prophets and Messengers, according to the orthodox beliefs of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism have passed away from Earth. Who is this heretical lady to claim that us mere mortals living in the End Times have "Prophetic abilities." Absurd and deviant.That is not to condemn or suppress anyone wanting to enhance their spirituality or intuitiveness. But to claim that we have prophetic abilities is straight up false. Irresponsible lady needs to be careful and reexamine her Christian faith before propagating heretical ideas.

I really love the content of the book. It’s very scholarly and full of key facts regarding the topic of the prophetic. Even the language is more of academic than most of the christian books on that topic. By reading that you will really recognize how intense the training in the prophetic is and actually should be as well. Read it to learn and delve deeper!
