AFWFilters Platinum series air injection iron, sulfur removal filter system

I’m a plumber and it was a straight forward installation. The copy of the instructions was poor quality, so the installation of the cup that goes on top of the tube was a little confusing. There was also two leaks on the control head I had to fix, but nothing too major. The quality of water was immediately noticeable. I’ve installed other iron removal systems that didn’t work nearly as good as this one. The best things, no salt.

When I bought the house back in 2014, little did I know about the perils of well water. Through mistakes and research, I became more knowledgeable but still didnt find the silver buller. Then I bought this and it sat on my basement for well over a year until I finally isntalled it.The main take away is this: There are many different types of rust, and rust filters. This one can't be beat for the money as long your setup is correct. Yes this will get rid of the rust and the egg smell.What is the correct setup? First, straight out of the well you need mechanical filtration. No way around it. Buy a big blue filter and put a 20 microns cartridge inside. If the dirt is excesive, buy two filters and run a 50 micron then the 20.There are other types of rust filters, such as media (green sand or some other media) which are crap. I bought one of those from a local company and it never did the proper work. One that will probably work well is the hydrogen peroxide one but now you are stock refilling it, and they are expensive from the get go. The ozone filters can be very expensive as well.The anode rod of the heater wont do much for you. Maybe you are or know the guy who swears up and down about it, but it didn't do much for me. I even intalled an "active one" but once again, didn't work.If you can afford it, run a double tank water softener aftwards and you will be a happy camper. Splurge on a whole house backwashing carbon filter and be even happier.

The tank arrived with two cracks. The head unit was obviously used. Filled the tank to see if it would leak. It leaks. Tried contacting AFW filters, but they are off on the weekends. I am now sending the junk back to Amazon for a full refund. I will update later with the status.

I installed this filter in February of 2017 and I couldn't be happier. It is now July of 2018 and it has performed perfectly so far. Our well supplies two households, a total of eight people and the water quality is very good. The unit was pretty easy to install. I am not a professional plumber but I've done quite a bit of plumbing over the years. The instructions could've been better but the help line at Aplus was very good at supplementing them, friendly too!

GREAT!!! Abundant Flow answered my emails quickly. This filter has improved the iron in our well water tremendously. My teen boys helped me install this in about 4 hours which included a 30 mile trip, one way, to Lowe's, to get needed fittings. We had also installed a new toilet, after the filter install. I have been keeping a check on the water in the toilet tank and it is crystal clear. Where I have the drain for the backwash cycle is turning rust colored from all the iron. I am very pleased with this purchase.

After 6 months of use, the filtration is marginal and can not handle slight high flow rate of 4 gallon a minuet. The water is brownish after 2 gallon a minuet flow. Technical support was no help. Taking the system out and installing another brand. Bought platinum series thinking I was getting the best. Junk. $1000 wasted.

The water out of tap used to smell like rusty metal and was red now I have bottled water taste and clarityI added a calcifier in line before this to reduce the PH wow what a total differance been using for over a year with no probs

I have had this for a few years and it works perfectly. My neighbor complains of the sulfur egg smell from his well and we have zero sulfur smells. I told him to get this but he hasn't. Between this and a softener we have good water.
