HSK 1 Storybook: Stories in Simplified Chinese and Pinyin, 150 Word Vocabulary Level

The little short stories are a great way to learn. Pinyin, Text and English are included.

I've been learning Chinese on my own for the last few months and wanted to get a basic reader to see if I could actually read Chinese. Feeling pretty confident in knowing most (if not all) of the HSK 1 vocabulary, I purchased this book. When it arrived, I dove into reading the first story and amazed myself at the fact that I could read ALL of it!!! The story is entirely in simplified Chinese characters, but then afterwards it is broken down into sections of characters with pinyin and English translation. This book is everything I was looking for. It even includes a password for audio files online. With about 15 stories per volume, and the stories being pretty short (maybe a couple pages, with sufficient paragraph breaks), I am very happy that I bought these. Would highly recommend if you're starting Chinese and feel pretty comfortable with the first 100-150 characters introduced in HSK 1.

It was a bit late for me make it a challenge, by the time I've bought it I was quite good at the HSK 1+ level. But it was still worth it, because finally it gave me stories that did contain all the necessary words, and didn't feel like if the book has been written by robots. Recommended to HSK 1 learners.

I enjoy the book very much and the stories are very interesting. I bought a few other leveled books with very little luck. I am so happy to see I can read lots of sentences! It encourages me a lot ! This book is great for HSK1 students.

This book on its face seems to be a very good way to help din characters into your memory, but unfortunately there are some errors in print. My girlfriend is Chinese and she pointed out the much of the book is not written in any native manner, so the sentences appear at odds with what native speakers would actually say. Also, some of the grammar is completely off base. For example, 的 is used countless times in text when it really should be 得. This might mislead new learners who have no knowledge of the differences in these two alike sounding characters. I wouldn’t recommend this.

The stories in this book are all so dorky, uninteresting, no plot what so ever. Sound like they were written for kindergarten level. There is so much rich Chinese folklore, why come up with these useless, dumbo stories that have no meaning, no sense. If you buy this book, quickly you will see it is just something to get through ASAP, and so you can move on to other sources and find richer examples to help one learn Chinese

The book collection is amazing. I hope the author doesn't stop her work on HSK4, but proceeds with HSK 5 and 6.

Prodotto molto utile per iniziare a leggere il cinese senza l’ausilio del Pinyin. Ho acquistato tutti e 3 i volumi della serie e ne sono rimasta molto soddisfatta, per me sono stati davvero molto utili.

Ein schönes Buch für Leseanfänger. Kleine Geschichten, zweisprachig nach den Geschichten aufgeschlüsselt. Gut um sich selbst nochmal zu versichern ob man das Zeichen richtig im Kopf hat.
