The amount of music is mind bogoling,as is the deep jazz history rooted in this book. I reccomend picking it up for the music,and pull it out every now and then for some enjoyable jam sessions and getting to know a time gone past through great music and it's history

and portable, too!

Good book, good music. I would recommend that once you decide what you might be playing from it that you copy the music instead of hauling it around since the cover and sometimes pages comes out easily which is why it's only getting 4 stars.

The Real Book collection is great for solo or small combo use. I have four of these books and use them all the time with my trio.I would offer only one suggestion - include the recommended tempo for each chart and identify the tempo such as rhumba ,swing ,etc.What is - med slow or med jazz. Great books at a great price.

Real Books are great. The songs seem to be spot on. The down side to them is that you have to buy every one to get all the songs you want and some of them just have copies of songs you'll get in other editions.

Brings out the Coltrane in you.

Mini versions are fine for holidays, but I was looking for the full size version and I am annoyed to have been sucked into an unintended purchase

Perfect gift for my daughter studying jazz music at university

Good book with some decent tunes in etc. However be aware that this is the MINI version of the book, not the full size one. I was caught out by this when ordering mine.

I'm extremely diappointed in this book. It is utterly puny compared with the lovely original Real Jazz book volume 2 that I was unwise enough to lend to somebody and which has subsequently become lost. Whereas the original book had all of the piano arrangements and chords, this has a few chords and that's it. Not much use quite frankly. A waste of money. I'm retiurning it as soon as possible

Excellent and large range of pieces clearly transcribed and in original key.
